Samson Dauda is preparing to defend his title at the 2024 Arnold Classic taking place on February 29 through March 3 in Columbus, Ohio. In a recent YouTube video, Samson Dauda delved into the development of his back and outlined his preparation strategy.
Last year, Samson Dauda emerged as a strong contender, prioritizing muscle mass and attention to detail. Throughout the season, Dauda demonstrated consistent progress, particularly with the conditioning of his back, which was identified as a problem area in the past, by many including former Arnold Classic titleholder Nick Walker.
Samson Dauda’s confidence and dedication were evident as he claimed victory at the 2023 Arnold Classic, defeating competitors Nick Walker and Andrew Jacked. From there, he continued to refine his physique for the 2023 Mr. Olympia, where he secured a third-place finish, trailing behind Hadi Choopan and the new Men’s Open Champion, Derek Lunsford.
However, Dauda’s journey didn’t end there. Following his participation in the Mr. Olympia, he secured first-place finishes at both the 2023 Romania Muscle Fest Pro and the EVLS Prague Pro competitions. Now, he gears up to face off against competitor Hadi Choopan at the 2024 Arnold Classic, determined to maintain his championship status.

Samson Dauda Talks 2024 Arnold Classic Back Improvements
During a recent interview, when questioned about the thinness of the skin on his back, Samson Dauda confidently discussed the progress of his physique for the upcoming 2024 Arnold Classic.
“Yeah, [it is thin skin on the back.]
“This is one thing, you saw me posing standing back at one point a few weeks ago, basically when we do our conditioning I don’t even bother looking at my front because I know that most of the time my front is going to get conditioned way before my back does” Samson Dauda said.
Samson Dauda explains that he prioritized his back during prep, considering it the most challenging area to condition. He believes that by focusing on his back initially, the rest of his body will naturally fall into shape.
“So, when we go through to it, we always look to the back first. It’s like okay most times we judge my conditions, it’s okay how does your back look? That is where the main judging point is, you know?”
“Like I said, you’re only as good as your weakest part, so we focus all our attention on that part in there. We know as long as we can get that in, everything goes with it so you just focus on that” Dauda added.
As Samson Dauda prepares for the 2024 Arnold Classic, his dedication to training and nutrition speaks volumes. Previously sharing a full day of eating, Dauda consistently has to push off his cravings to maintain his champion physique.
In one week, Samson Dauda will attempt to solidify himself as a two-time Arnold Classic champion, but will no doubt face immense pressure if he hopes to secure the victory. Don’t miss the 2024 Arnold Classic action in Columbus, Ohio!
