Six Star pre-workout Explosion is a powerful supplement that claims to provide you an unparalleled level of endurance and energy to help you enhance muscle performance and improve mental efficacy, and subsequently your workout intensity.

Taking a quick glance at the supplement, the formula certainly looks promising with common ingredients found in most of the pre-workout powders available on the market. However, they could’ve been more transparent with the blend.

Of course, the surprisingly affordable price tag is one of the unique selling points of this product, but you can’t just make a decision solely based on its monetary value. It’s the inner ingredients that matter, and that’s what this review will break down.

Ingredients and Nutritional Facts

As per the supplement’s label, the product contains a total of 10 calories with no added sugar or carbohydrates. There’s also 250 mg of Vitamin C as ascorbic acid that supplies 417% of your daily requirement. In addition, there’s 30 mg Niacin in the form of niacinamide that contributes 150% of the daily value.

Considering the affordable price, it’s evident that there’s nothing fancy at all in the formula as both of these are standard additions, but it’s good that they didn’t compromise on Niacin, which is particularly important for energy metabolism.

The ingredients available in the supplement are classified into three categories based on the way they contribute to the overall effectiveness of the formula.

These categories are stated below with their individual ingredients explained:

Ingredients

Here we’ve listed the ingredients in this pre-workout formula.

Six Star Ingredients
Six Star Ingredients

Beta-Alanine

Taking beta-alanine can boost athletic performance as it can reduce fatigue, improve endurance and boost performance when doing high-intensity exercises. It also helps you exercise for a longer time, and as a result, your time to exhaustion (TTE) increases.

In a study of cyclists, beta-alanine increased total work performed by 13% after four weeks, and by 3.2% after 10 weeks. Additionally, 20 men who took beta-alanine supplements for four weeks increased their time to exhaustion by 13–14%.

However, a single serving of this supplement only provides a mere 1500mg, which won’t make much of a difference apart from a slight boost in your workout.

Creatine Monohydrate

Since its introduction as a dietary supplement, creatine has been extensively examined. In fact, numerous studies have been conducted, all showing it to be top-notch for an exercise performance supplement and being very safe to consume.

It increases the water content, which is known as cell volumization or swelling, in muscle tissue and helps improve the function of your muscle cells. This supplement has also been shown to increase strength gains from weight-training programs by about 5–10%, on average

L-Arginine Alpha-Ketoglutarate

L-arginine alpha-ketoglutarate is used as a form of supplement by bodybuilders and athletes as a dietary supplement to enhance recovery, reduce muscle fatigue, support muscle endurance, and improve sports performance. It also plays a crucial role in regulating amino acid synthesis and energy production in your body.

While it’s obtained from food and termed as a semi-essential amino acid, the supply of L-arginine may be insufficient during injury, physical stress, or rapid growth. In such times, this amino acid consumed as a dietary supplement can help improve bodily function and maintain muscle mass and provide skin splitting muscle pumps.

Advanced Pump Complex

Taurine

Taurine is a vital amino acid found in the brain, muscle tissues, and other organs of your body. It helps your liver to create bile salts that facilitate the breakdown of fatty acids and promote better digestion. A study conducted in 2017 showed that Taurine can lower blood cholesterol levels too.

It also protects muscles against damage and ensures their proper functioning. Based on 2015 research, Taurine may also help in the treatment of neuromuscular disorders. However, the evidence is quite limited in this area and requires more data to back the claim.

The amino acid taurine plays several important roles in your muscles and is said to increase fat burning, reduce muscle damage, and reduce fatigue during exercise.

L-Citrulline

Citrulline is an amino acid produced naturally by the body, found in food items like watermelon, and also available as a supplement. Intaking this amino acid may offer beneficial effects on exercise performance and overall health.

It increases the production of nitric oxide in your body, which may facilitate increased blood flow. Moreover, it also decreases amino acid breakdown and stimulates protein synthesis to provide positive effects on muscles.

L-Citrulline Malate

Citrulline Malate is the most extensively researched form of citrulline produced by bounding an organic salt of malic acid with citrulline. There are certain speculations about malate’s role in providing performance benefits, but again the research is somewhat limited.

L-Arginine HCL

L-arginine HCL is a monohydrochloride salt of L-arginine and a substrate of nitric oxide synthase that further converts into nitric oxide and L-citrulline. Like other ingredients in this Pre-Workout Explosion, this compound is also used widely in supplements.

It appears that the ingredients in the advanced pump complex of this pre workout are available in a cumulative concentration of 500mg, which suggests that the quantity doesn’t even match the minimum effective dosage. Personally, we’re not much satisfied with the dosage of the ingredients in this pre-workout blend.

Pre-Workout Explosion Blend

Caffeine Anhydrous

During harvesting, caffeine is extracted from plant matter and dehydrated, creating a highly concentrated powder termed caffeine anhydrous. Aside from the benefit of providing a standard dose in comparison with brewed beverages, caffeine anhydrous can also be carried over in the form of pills, gum, or gel to make it easier to carry around while improving athletic performance. The mix contains a scientifically researched dose of caffeine.

Choline Bitartrate

Being a recently discovered essential nutrient, Choline is produced by your body but in a very regulative manner. That’s why it’s necessary to get choline from your diet to prevent any deficiency. It serves an important role in many processes in your body, including the structural integrity of cell membranes, which is why it is getting increasingly popular in pre workout blends.

L-Tyrosine

In humans, L-Tyrosine is involved in the production of noradrenaline and dopamine. Studies indicate that this amino acid might reduce stress during acute stress (which depletes noradrenaline) and could protect against stress-induced memory and attention deficits.

How Effective is Six Star Pre-Workout Supplement?

Six Star Taste

Six star Pre workout is quite effective and gives you a perfect energy boost that is required during workouts. It contains all ingredients that should be available in a good pre-workout supplement.

However the Six Star Explosion falls short on several potent ingredients like Betaine Anhydrous, L-Theanine, Acetyl-L-Carnitine, and Bioperine. All in all it’s a great pre-workout that comes at an affordable price tag and gives you a perfect energy boost.

Two scoops of this supplement is enough to gain the required push, contrary to the recommended intake directions.

Pricing and Where to Buy?

As of now, the Six Star Pre-Workout Explosion is available at a price of $15.99 on the company’s official website. It is extremely cheap as compared to other pre-workout supplements. Being an affordable pre-workout supplement it does its job pretty well.

Are There Any Side Effects Involved?

As with any other supplement available on the market, Six Star’s pre-workout explosion also contains a range of ingredients that may have varying impact on different people. The supplement is not intended to be consumed by people under 18 years of age.

Moreover, if you’re under medical care or pregnant, you should still not consume this product. As per the label, caffeine-sensitive individuals might experience symptoms like nervousness, headache, restlessness, anxiety, tremors, difficulty sleeping, or increased heart rate.

Some consumers may also experience a harmless tingling sensation that comes from the concentrated performance dose of beta-alanine in this pre workout mix. You may also feel bloated due to the creatine content in the supplement. Make sure that you consult a healthcare professional before beginning a new diet or exercise program.

If you are just getting started with pre-workouts, the lesser concentration of ingredients may be beneficial to assess your tolerance. Six Star’s Pre-Workout Explosion contains a high amount of beta alanine and creatine which makes it an affordable yet great power supplement.
