It’s been a while since we last saw Tamara Walcott compete in powerlifting. Specifically, she last competed over a year ago. However, Tamara worked in silence and made some unbelievable improvements. So recently, the time came for Tamara to show it off on Instagram, as one of her latest training sessions turned out to be quite epic. During the workout, Tamara performed all three powerlifting events, but what amazed everyone were her Squat and Total Unofficial All-Time World Records in the +90-kilogram weight class.
Tamara Walcott opted for an SBD (Squat, Bench, Deadlift) workout, encompassing all elements of a powerlifting competition. So, she first performed the squats, where she ended up lifting 287.5 kilograms (633.8 pounds). Moreover, Tamara only used a lifting belt, knee sleeves, and wrist wraps, making her squat raw.
The current record belongs to Sonita Muluh, who squatted 285.5 kilograms (629.4 pounds) at the 2023 IPF World Classic Powerlifting Championships. So, Tamara Walcott has managed to lift 2 kilograms (4.4 pounds) over the record.
Moreover, when Tamara Walcott performed the bench and deadlift, her Total came out to 742.5 kilograms (1,636.9 pounds). So, this marked another unofficial All-Time World Record, since the official one stands at 730 kilograms (1,609.3 pounds) and is in Tamara’s possession as well.

Tamara Walcott will soon take the stage at the 2023 WRPF American Pro 2, where she plans to make these World Records officials. The competition will take place on October 27-29, at the Salisbury Center in Manassas, VA. It is also nicknamed the “Superbowl of Powerlifting” and is set to gather the majority of top-ranked powerlifters in the world.
Seeing how Tamara Walcott is heading into her first powerlifting competition of the year, it is important to note that she tried out something new in the meantime. To be precise, back in March, Tamara decided to dip her toes in the sport of Strongwoman. The competition she chose for her debut was none other than the 2023 Arnold Strongwoman Classic. Obviously, Tamara placed last, but she displayed immense potential and crushed the Max Elephant Bar Deadlift event.
However, Tamara Walcott is returning to powerlifting now, so let’s take a look at her accomplishments so far. She has been competing in the sport since 2018 and has made a total of ten appearances in sanctioned competitions. Impressively, she has won nine of the competitions, missing out on only one in the early stages of her career. She has also claimed multiple World Records and broken barriers that seemed humanly impossible.

Tamara has made it clear that the Squat and Total are likely to fall, but she could also make history on the Deadlift since it is her greatest event.
