There is no doubt that Thor Bjornsson is one of the world’s strongest men. He reassured us of this fact recently, with a throwback to an unbelievable deadlift.
Bjornsson is the former World’s Strongest Man and Arnold Strongman Classic winner. However, what he gained mainstream popularity for, was his role as “The Mountain” in HBO’s Game of Thrones. Despite his success on the small screen, Bjornsson did not let that interfere with his training, as he is still incredibly strong.
This was most evident in a throwback video, uploaded to Thor’s Instagram. In the video, you can see Bjornsson does a massive deadlift. In fact, according to the post, this was the heaviest deadlift that he has ever done. This is not hard to believe, considering just how heavy it is.

Also in the video, you can see powerlifting phenom Larry Wheels in the background, cheering Bjornsson on. Furthermore, when Thor successfully does the lift, the entire room erupts, as he embraces Wheels. Larry Wheels is no stranger to impressive deadlifts, even when he was unable to use his hands to do them.
This is not the only impressive thing that Thor Bjornsson has been doing lately. Earlier this year, he managed to win yet another strongman competition in Iceland. Additionally, on a more lighthearted note, he decided to get a workout in while getting a tattoo, by bench pressing his wife.
All of that aside, this deadlift from Bjornsson is quite impressive. Not only that but the way he is able to do it and make it seem effortless, makes it all the more mind-blowing. As a result, it is easy to understand why he got so excited, after managing to do it successfully.
Even at this stage in his career, Thor Bjornsson seems to be continuing to evolve and get stronger. He never ceases to amaze, every single time he hits the gym.
