Total Purse Tops 3M in 2020 Reebok CrossFit Games

The 2020 Reebok CrossFit Games resulted in a total payout of over 3 million through Stage 1 and Finals, with Fittest on Earth® Mat Fraser and Tia-Clair Toomey going home with over $340,000 each.

There may only be two walking away with the Fittest on Earth® titles, but everyone is a winner at the 2020 Reebok CrossFit Games that paid out over 3 million dollars to all athletes. That payout included prize money for Stage 1 of the games.

Now a four-time winner, Tia-Clair Toomey is $342,000 happier as the reigning Fittest Woman on Earth®. Her training partner Mat Fraser breaks the record to become a five-time Fittest Man on Earth® winner, with a payout of $348,000.

2020 Reebok CrossFit Games Payouts Explained

But all who competed are walking away with a little more money in their games, as earned recognition for showing up to try and become the best in the world. Each event paid out to athletes, with final set prizes for each placement.

The Fittest on Earth® prize started at $300,000 per winner, and each athlete won prizes for placing in the top three in each event. A $3,000 prize went to first place in every event, $2,000 for second, and $1,000 for third place.

Payouts for the Men

Five-time Fittest Man on Earth® winner Mat Fraser took first place in 10 of 12 events, holding an 1,150 point total out of a possible 1,200 points. He gets paid for all of that, plus two second-place wins in the Finals for the CrossFit Total and Swim ‘N Stuff Events.

  1. Mat Fraser: First — $348,000 total from $300,000 with $48,000 event earnings
  2. Samuel Kwant: Second — $128,000 total from $115,000 with $13,000 event earnings
  3. Justin Medeiros: Third — $89,000 total from $75,000 with $14,000 event earnings
  4. Noah Ohlsen: Fourth — $63,000 total from $50,000 with $13,000 event earnings
  5. Jeffrey Adler: Fifth — $43,000 total from $35,000 with $8,000 event earnings

Payouts for the Women

Four-time Tia-Clair Toomey Fittest Woman on Earth® took first place in 9 of 12 events, earning 1,025 points of a possible 1,200. She also earned two event payouts for third in both the Ranch Loop and Atalanta.

  1. Tia-Clair Toomey: First — $342,000 total from $300,000 with $42,000 event earnings
  2. Katrin Tanja Davidsdottir: Second — $134,000 total from $115,000 with $19,000 event earnings
  3. Kari Pearce: Third — $87,000 total from $75,000 with $12,000 event earnings
  4. Haley Adams: Fourth — $60,000 total from $50,000 with $10,000 event earnings
  5. Brook Wells: Fifth — $48,000 total from $35,000 with $13,000 event earnings

Between Stage 1 and Stage 2, Reebok paid out over 3 million in total. It was a payout of just over $1.3 million for the CrossFit Finals that occurred this weekend.
