The 60th anniversary of Joe Weider’s Fitness and Performance Olympia Weekend is here from October 10-13 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Competitors from the Classic Physique category met for prejudging on Saturday morning October 12 at 9:30 a.m. inside the Las Vegas Convention Center. Chris Bumstead, Urs Kalecinski, and Mike Sommerfeld are leading as we head into the finals tonight!
There’s been no denying the dominance of Canadian standout Chris Bumstead. He took the Classic Physique Olympia title by force from Breon Ansley in 2019 and has held the honor since. He even won the Classic Physique Olympia title last year with a lat tear, defeating surging contender Ramon Queiroz. Despite rumors about his retirement, ‘Cbum’ came into this show eager to present an all-time best look.
During prejudging, reigning champion Chris Bumstead looked shredded head-to-toe, making him a shoo-in for center stage. He appeared improved from the 2023 Olympia, showcasing new details in his shoulders, hamstrings, and back.
However, the capped delts, X-frame, and thin waist of Urs Kalecinski also had the crowd cheering. Mike Sommerfeld found success throughout the callouts with a career-best look. Shockingly, Ramon Queiroz and Wesley Vissers didn’t make it into the final callout. Given what fans witnessed on stage, ‘Cbum’ will have his hands full heading into the finals.
