Originally from Brazil, Valdir Segato, better known as Valdir Synthol, got some fame because of his excessive use of synthol and fake muscles. Despite being warned numerous times by doctors, Valdir continued pumping the oil into his body. Well, according to some sources, Valdir was pronounced dead on July 26, 2022, at the age of 55. So far, no cause of death has been released, so we can’t say whether synthol played a role in his death. The news of his death was initially reported by UOL News.

Even more tragically, Valdir Segato was celebrating his 55th birthday on the day of his passing. As a result of feeling discomfort at home, Valdir rushed to the hospital. His last moments were tragic, as he passed away shortly after entering the hospital.

Even though Valdir Segato’s synthol use got him some fame, it was considered very controversial among bodybuilders. Many bodybuilders thought that Valdir was giving a fake image of the sport and being a bad influence for the up-and-coming athletes. There is no doubt that they meant this to be applied to every user of Synthol, not just Valdir.

Unlike steroids, PEDs, and supplements, synthol does not work in the same way. While the usual supplementation enhances muscle growth, conditioning, and strength, synthol doesn’t boost anything. Synthol is injected into the desired muscle in a liquid form, but becomes solid after some time. It is obvious that synthol has very serious health consequences, as it has resulted in multiple operations, amputations, and deaths. As an added downside, synthol’s “muscles” look nothing like real muscles, and many find them repulsive.

Synthol freak

Many Bodybuilders are against the use of synthol in competitions since it contradicts the purpose of the sport, but there were still a few scandals. Some people use it, but only in small doses since bigger doses could make the muscles look deformed, resulting in a lower placing at a bodybuilding show. However, Valdir Segato did not compete, so he just used the injections for his own pleasure.

It is obvious that Valdir Segato mostly injected synthol into his arms and chest, as both looked very unproportionate. Seeing that Valdir did not want to stop even after doubling the size of his biceps, he probably suffered from severe muscle dysmorphia. If he had seen a psychologist about that, however, he might have ended up in a better position.

Valdir Segato was a drug addict in his younger years, so to recover from that he started going to the gym. Valdir very quickly realized that the results he wanted were not achievable naturally, so he turned to synthol. Segato gained significant weight, but was never satisfied.

“The doctors tell me to stop it, the advice they give me is to stop using, but it’s my decision to use it because I want to, because I like to… I look at myself in the mirror and I like the way I look.”

Valdir Segato was one of the most famous synthol users alongside Kirill Tereshin, also known as “The Synthol Kid” or “Russian Popeye”. Kirill has also encountered some very serious health complications due to synthol and even had to get a surgery to save his muscles. The Synthol Kid has recently gotten some face injections and refused medical recommendations.
