The 2024 bodybuilding season is heating up with the Mr. Olympia just weeks away. In a recent YouTube video, Dennis James, Milos Sarcev, and Justin Shier shared their top Men’s Open predictions for the 2024 Mr. Olympia event taking place this October in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Men’s Open category is one of the most anticipated divisions to take the stage at the Mr. Olympia. With only 14 weeks till the event, set to take place October 10-13 in Las Vegas, Nevada, all eyes are on the top contenders of the class.
Derek Lunsford is among the best as the current Mr. Olympia champion. However, maintaining his title will be no walk in the park. With monsters such as Hadi Choopan, who won the prestigious Olympia title in 2022, Lunsford needs to bring his A-game if he wishes to find success.
Meanwhile, Samson Dauda will return to the stage in hopes of finally securing the win after taking third place at the 2023 Mr. Olympia. Also, let’s not forget about the freak factor of Nick Walker, who will finally make his comeback after being sidelined due to a calf and hamstring tear last year.

Dennis James, Milos Sarcev, and Justin Shier Reveal Top 3 Picks for 2024 Mr. Olympia
With so many incredible athletes in the Men’s Open lineup, many connoisseurs of the sport believe Derek Lunsford won’t be able to defend his title. This includes Milos Sarcev, Dennis James, and Justin Shier, who in a recent YouTube video, shared their Men’s Open top-three for the 2024 Mr. Olympia.
Dennis James
- Hadi Choopan
- Samson Dauda
- Derek Lunsford
Dennis James reveals that either Samson Dauda will come in strong or fall out of the top three entirely, which would leave him in a bad position following the event.
“I think, I hope, Samson is going to finally nail it. If not, I think then Samson can be out of the top three real fast. If he’s not delivering this time I think it’s going to really hurt him” said Dennis James.
Milos Sarcev
- Hadi Choopan
- Samson Dauda
- Derek Lunsford
Justin Shier
- Hadi Choopan
- Nick Walker
- Derek Lunsford
” I think Hadi, Derek, and Nick are going to fucking deliver. That’s my feeling. I’m not saying Samson isn’t. I’d love to see it.
Nick Walker’s return to the Mr. Olympia stage has sparked some debate regarding whether he can earn the win or not. While Justin Shier feels he will easily fall into the top three, others such as bodybuilding legend Jay Cutler don’t feel the same. Cutler revealed after seeing his physique at the 2024 New York Pro show that Walker will need to put in a lot more work if he intends to stand amongst the best.
“He’s not showing the third place physique based on my opinion, the feedback of the contest. He’s getting a lot of criticism because the waist was a little wider but in a sense, it’s like he goes to the Arnold, they tell him you’re too lean, you need to be more powerful like he was when he got third at the Olympia, right?”
There are only 14 weeks until bodybuilding’s finest grace the most prestigious stage in the sport. Fans can look forward to tuning into the 60th anniversary of the Mr. Olympia this October 10-13, taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada.
