The 2024 Dubai Pro will take over the United Arab Emirates this weekend (July 28) loaded with talent from the headlining Men’s Open division. In addition, contenders from the Men’s 212 Bodybuilding, Classic Physique, and Men’s Physique categories will square off for hefty cash prizes and Mr. Olympia qualifications.
Ever since the Dubai Pro promised a lump sum of $100,000 to the Men’s Open winner, bodybuilders have circled this premier event on their calendars. We are in the heat of the 2024 season with some athletes who have yet to qualify for the Mr. Olympia this October.
The Dubai Pro will see the return of surging Men’s Open star Rubiel ‘Neckzilla’ Mosquera. Meanwhile, Nathan De Asha, William Bonac, and Behrooz Tabani are slated to compete despite having earned their qualifications for Olympia at past shows this year.
2024 Dubai Pro Bodybuilding Preview and Contenders to Watch
William Bonac
On paper, William Bonac is the most successful and credentialed athlete competing this weekend in the Open class. He came extremely close to winning the Mr. Olympia title in 2019, where he was narrowly defeated by Brandon Curry.
Bonac’s compact muscle density and powerful side poses have turned him into a massive threat over the years. When his conditioning matches up with his fullness, he’s a nightmare to deal with and difficult to overpower on stage. Bonac won gold at the 2024 Empro Classic Pro and recently took second place behind Nathan De Asha at the Mr. Big Evolution Portugal Pro.

Nathan De Asha
Hitting his stride during the 2024 bodybuilding season, Nathan De Asha has dialed in his nutrition and training to solidify his standing in the ultra-competitive division. De Asha’s strengths lie in his back poses and his lower body thickness, specifically his carved-out quads and impressive hamstrings. Even though he earned his ticket to the Olympia contest last year, De Asha was unable to fulfill his dream of competing due to visa issues.
That won’t be an issue in Dubai this weekend and De Asha intends to pick up another big win when he takes to the stage. Shining with a career-best package at the 2024 Mr. Big Evolution Portugal Pro, De Asha hopes to refine his look to present an even more lethal physique in Dubai.
Rubiel Mosquera
Rubiel ‘Neckzilla’ Mosquera is easily the biggest question mark heading into the event. He hasn’t competed since his explosive IFBB Pro League debut at the 2023 EVLS Prague Pro, where he pushed Samson Dauda and Michal Krizanek en route to securing third place. Despite a lack of experience in this federation, Mosquera has blown away onlookers with many suggesting that he’s the next Ronnie Coleman.
His freaky tree trunk legs, thick neck, and huge arms are among his biggest strengths. Trained by bodybuilding great Chris Cormier, Mosquera has the right people behind him and could spell trouble for the Open roster this weekend if he nails his peak.
Behrooz Tabani
Behrooz Tabani isn’t just known for his patented conditioning levels, but for his utter consistency anytime he graces a bodybuilding stage. He’s trained by industry expert Milos Sarcev and continues to improve his physique, mainly his fullness and size from show to show.
Additionally, Tabani’s shape, tight waist, and aesthetics have proven to be difficult to compete with. In his last event, Tabani clinched gold at the 2024 Flex Weekend Pro in Italy, where he bested Nathan De Asha. He also nailed down second place to William Bonac at the Empro Classic Pro show in mid-June. Given his experience against the lineup, he could find himself pushing for gold in the days to come.
