Strongman icon Eddie Hall has taken an unusual route to losing weight but it appears to be working. In his latest endeavor, shared via YouTube on September 8, 2024, Hall walked fans through his 9,828-calorie carnivore full day of eating. In addition, he showcased his physique transformation after dropping 15 pounds from the diet over 30 days.
You can’t admire the sport of strongman without mentioning Eddie Hall’s name. Hall’s monstrous strength, endurance, and willpower cemented him as one of the best. He at one point held the all-time world record on the elephant bar deadlift, locking out an unbelievable 1,102 pounds in 2016. A year after the remarkable feat of strength, Hall would win the World’s Strongest Man title in 2017.
He is known for his heated rivalry with fellow strongman great Hafthor Bjornsson, who ultimately broke Hall’s deadlift world record in 2020 by two pounds (1,104 pounds). They settled their rivalry in the boxing ring with Bjornsson getting his hand raised by unanimous decision. The stakes were high and as a result of losing the bout, Hall was forced to get a tattoo on his foot reading ‘World’s Strongest Man – Hafthor Julius Bjornsson.’
Since stepping away from the bright lights of strongman, Eddie Hall hasn’t slowed down. He has invited fans on numerous fitness journeys including combat sports to his latest offering, a 30-day carnivore diet challenge, which surprisingly has helped him lose a little weight.

Eddie Hall Shows Off 9,828-Calorie Carnivore Diet and Physique Transformation, Drops 15 Lbs After 30 Days
Hall gave an update on how he’s felt about adhering to the carnivore diet over the past month. He says his energy levels have increased despite dropping some weight.
“We are exactly one month on from the carnivore diet. I have eaten nothing but meat produce and eggs for 30 days basically. I guess today is about seeing how I’m progressing, what problems I’ve found arising from the diet, and how I’m feeling in general. I have definitely lost weight, the before and after pictures are coming up.”
“Energy levels are great. I’ve had a few problems such as shitting myself and other things but I’ve managed to remedy that with tweaks and the diet,” he shares.
Meal 1
- Five organic eggs
- 200 grams of packed Salmon
- Cottage cheese
- Salt
- Milkshake
- Cheese
After temporarily limiting dairy in his diet, Hall was happy to welcome it back with cottage cheese and a milkshake.
“We’ve been reassured that dairy is completely fine so I got whole-fat cottage cheese here,” said Hall. “Basically runny fats like butter and everything and eat more solid fats like salmon, rib eye steaks, and stuff like that, and that’s helped a lot.”
Meal Total:
- 1,506 calories
- 150 grams of protein
Meal 2
- Steak
- Eggs
- Milkshake (two scoops of whey protein)
In between meals, Eddie Hall gets in some boxing training, focusing on explosive strength, endurance, and stamina.
“When I started this a few weeks back I was getting a stupid amount of calories from all the fats and all the butters and everything else. Stupid amount of protein now as well but I’m definitely getting way more protein now but feeling better for it.”
Meal Total:
- 3,701 calories
- 318 grams of protein
Mid-Day Snack (Meal 3)
- Biltong
After weight training with his son, Hall moved on to his next helping of food which was purely protein.
Meal Total
- 113 calories
- 24 grams of protein
“This [Lumen app] is saying that my body is craving carbs during that workout so any carbs I’ve eaten throughout the day, then I’ll have for lunch, and there’s carbs in the milk isn’t there?”
Meal 4
- Steak
- Eggs
- Butter
He decided to wait on his milkshake because his goal is to burn fat when he exercises and not glucose from carbohydrates.
Meal Total
- 2,648 Calories
- 205 grams of protein
“Yeah, I’m going to have the milkshake later,” says Hall.
Meal 5
- Milkshake
- Yogurt
- Broth
Even though Hall’s diet saw him consume nearly 10,000 calories in one day, he mentioned that he’s still losing weight thanks to the carnivore diet.
“On the carnivore diet, I never thought that was going to be possible, 10,000 calories there you go,” said Hall. “So that’s two and a half grams of protein for every pound of body weight. That’s insane. That’s probably one of the best diet days I’ve done in a long time.”
“I’ve been doing that for 30 days adjusting slowly and I’m losing weight. How can I lose weight on 10,000 calories a day, how does that work?”
Full Day of Eating Total:
- 9,828 calories
- 892 grams of protein
The carnivore diet has sparked intrigue among many notable figures in fitness. Podcast host and MMA commentator Joe Rogan swears by the diet and admits it helps him remain fit, clear-minded, and full of energy at the age of 57.
Having digested a staggering 9,828 calories and 892 grams of protein in 24 hours, Eddie Hall gives new meaning to a full stomach. Given his impressive body transformation, perhaps he might stick with the carnivore diet for the foreseeable future.
“The results speak for themselves. I feel great, my inflammation feels good, my strength has gone through the roof and I’m sleeping better and I can eat as much as I want to a degree.”
