The bodybuilding community is torn over the Martin Fitzwater 2026 Arnold Classic controversy. On March 10, Phil Heath addressed the situation and defended him against ‘mob mentality.’ Fitzwater’s girlfriend, Alexis Drury, discussed the fallout. In addition, Chinedu Andrew ‘Jacked’ Obiekea offered Fitzwater an all-expenses-paid vacation to blow off steam.
Martin Fitzwater secured fourth place at the 2026 Arnold Classic. After his rival, Nick Walker, lost to Jacked in the finals, Fitzwater was seen celebrating. He also refused to shake Walker’s hand during the awards ceremony. Escalation continued, with Fitzwater allegedly shoving and cursing at Walker backstage.
When a fan commented that real men shake every competitor’s hand, Fitzwater responded with ‘Gfys.’ Just days after competing in Ohio, Fitzwater was dropped by two major sponsors: RAW Nutrition and Elev8 Foods. Lee Priest believes he’s in a bad place mentally, whereas King Kamali argued he has roid rage. Now, Heath and Drury are speaking up on the drama.

Check out Heath’s statement on the Fitzwater controversy below:
“I want to be clear about something. I do not condone poor sportsmanship or disrespect in this sport. Bodybuilding is built on discipline, respect, and integrity.
But I also do not support the mob mentality that tries to destroy someone’s life or career over a single moment. Mental health is something we still do not talk about enough in this sport. Behind the physiques, the trophies, and the stage lights are human beings dealing with pressure, expectations, and public scrutiny,” Heath said.
Alexis Drury, who claimed bronze at the 2026 Arnold Classic Wellness International, also released a statement. She doesn’t condone Fitzwater’s actions but expressed disappointment in the ‘degrading messages’ she’s received.
In a show of compassion, reigning Arnold Classic titleholder Jacked offered Fitzwater and Drury an all-inclusive paid trip to Costa Rica to blow off steam. He sent the message to Brett Wilkin to see if there was any interest:
“Bro I wanna run this through you firstly, Lemme know what you think!
Firstly I want to from my own heart get Martin and his lady a 1 week All inclusive trip (flight and hotel inclusive + return to taxi shuttle from airport to hotel and back) So that he can go cool off and blow off steam because I understand as a man sometimes doesn’t goes well like how we want it to but we also just have to trust and pray for self control else our demons will cast us deep into darkness.”
“I think a getaway far away from over at Costa Rica in a beach resort will be good at least to help him cool off and breathe some different air cuz the air around him is very polluted with negativity. Lemme know bro and I’ll make my assistant get to work as early as Thursday this week they can fly off,” Jacked shared.
Wilkin, Fitzwater’s closest friend and training partner, was candid about the situation. He doesn’t agree with Fitzwater’s actions, but emphasized that messages online have gotten out of hand. Wilkin said he spoke with Walker, who told him that he hopes to see Fitzwater bounce back from this.
Despite Fitzwater’s downfall, fans want to see him return better than ever. As of this writing, he is currently on the roster for the 2026 Arnold Classic UK, set for March 27-29 in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
