Kyle Landi, a Canadian bodybuilder with Down syndrome, placed second at the 2026 Toronto Pro Qualifier, coming within one spot of IFBB Pro status.

Kyle Landi Places Second in Toronto

The International Toronto Pro Qualifier was held during Toronto Pro Supershow weekend in Toronto, Ontario. According to the official event page, the 2026 qualifier offered 23 IFBB Pro cards, the largest number ever offered in Canada.

Landi did not win one, but his runner-up result confirmed he belonged in a serious pro-qualifying lineup. His Toronto appearance followed his recent IFBB Pro card attempt, and the result gives him a clear standard for his next prep.

Landi is an Ontario-based Canadian bodybuilder with Down syndrome, also known as Trisomy 21, a genetic condition caused by the presence of all or part of a third copy of chromosome 21.

He gained wider attention in 2023 as the first Canadian bodybuilder with Down syndrome and appeared as a special guest at the Arnold Classic. His rise has included stage appearances and training moments with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Nick Walker, Antoine Valliant, Larry Wheels, Tristyn Lee, Ronnie Coleman, Flex Wheeler, and Breon Ansley.

Schwarzenegger later highlighted Landi while emphasizing that fitness should be open to everyone, a message he also shared after training with Landi.

What Comes Next for Landi

Landi’s path is straightforward: return sharper and turn a near miss into a win.

Toronto did not deliver the card, but it gave him something valuable — legitimate competitive proof, not just an inspirational storyline.
