First off congratulations to all lifters who battled at this world championship…. Congratulations to my brother @jezzauepa …. Today was a learning experience like no other today… I broke my own rules today and it cost me… But the beautiful part about life is I get to pick up the pieces and and start all over…

Huge S/O 2 the open team coaches and lifters for making sure this old bun was ok…. But lastly as I always say no matter what 2 God Be The Glory!!! To be continued…..

Ray Williams is a monstrous SHW powerlifter that sets squat records practically every time he competes. However, this time it wasn’t his night. Over the weekend “IPF Worlds 2019” powerlifting meet occurred and “Ray Ray” was fired up and ready to go.

He loaded up the bar at 440kg(his personal best is 490kg) and things looked “off” right from the get-go.  The bar was very wobbly the descent looked unstable and he didn’t have anything left in the tank to drive the weight upwards.

The same thing happened with the second and third attempts, the weight just wasn’t working with the big man. Luckily the spotters were doing an awesome job that day and saved “Ray Ray” from any potential injury or freak accident.

Willimas’ bad luck transferred to his bench press where he pressed a “mere” 125kgs. Keep in mind that, Ray’s best bench is 247.5 kg, which would mean that 125 would go up with no issues at all.

However, as Williams was approaching the bar he was sporting a noticeable limp which he might have earned on the squat attempts.

Ray gave a response on his Instagram, but don’t expect any direct answers for his performance. He was very vague about what happened.
