Before people were stuck at home being forced to do push-ups instead of going to the gym, Jarrad Young was already pushing himself in this area. To the point, where he managed to earn his way into the Guinness Book of World Records.

Young is a fitness trainer hailing from Australia, who wanted to make his mark on history. The way he decided to do this, was by putting his push-ups skills to the test. He wanted to use these abilities to attempt to do the most push-ups in one hour, earning a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records if successful.

So in August of 2018, Jarrad Young stepped foot in the Matrix Boxing Gum, in Queensland, with one goal in mind: break this world record. The goal he was trying to beat was 2,682 push-ups, a number hit by Carlton Williams back in 2017. As the video, which was recently unearthed, demonstrates, Jarrad managed to blow right past that number, hitting a jaw-dropping 2,806lb push-ups.

Take a look at the video, which shows each rep for the entire hour-long session:

Obviously, Young does not do the push-ups for an hour without stopping. The entire time he does them in bursts of 15 reps, taking a moment to breathe in between each one. Moreover he occasionally stops to shake out his arms, get a drink, and rest for a little longer. Regardless he is able to blow through the previous records beating it by an unbelievable 124 reps.

Despite the fact that Jarrad Young set this record in 2018, it still stands to this day. However, given the fact that more and more people are doing push-up challenges right now because gyms are closed, he might just have someone coming after his record before long. Either way, it is still an incredibly impressive display of control and endurance.
