The 2021 CrossFit Open is underway, and the athletes are brimming with anticipation. This is a guide to watching the live announcement for the 21.2 portion of the competition.

Every year, fans and athletes alike look forward to the excitement that comes from the Open. In spite of all the changes that have come to this season’s format, there is still a buzz in the air for this contest.

Last week saw the first step of the Open, the 21.1 announced. The announcement was paired with a head-to-head face-off between veterans Kari Pearce and Kristi Eramo O’Connell. 

Now we are set for the 2021 CrossFit Open 21.2 workout announcement, as it is set to air Thursday, March 18th. Below is a breakdown of how you can watch the announcement live, as well as what you can expect from the evening’s affairs.

The announcement for the CrossFit Open 21.2 workout goes down tonight, at 5 pm PST (8 pm EST). There are two different platforms where you can watch the announcement take place live. This event will be broadcast from CrossFit Home Office in Scotts Valley, CA.

In addition to the announcement of the workout for the 21.2, fans can also watch the workout being completed by two familiar faces in the industry. As is the tradition, two CrossFit athletes will go head-to-head to try besting each other in the workout.

Three-time Games competitor and 2020 Games second-place finisher Samuel Kwant will face 2020 Games third-place finisher and Rookie of the Year Justin Medeiros. This is being billed as a “Youth vs Experience” matchup, and promises to be exciting.

Some other pieces of information worth noting, is the fact that the US Army will be the presenting sponsors of the contest. CPT Rachel Schreiber and SGT Jacob Pfaff will be there to represent the US Army Warrior Fitness Team, completing the 21.2 workout after Kwant and Medeiros.
