The 2022 Giants Live Strongman Classic is just a few days away, as it will take place on July 9, 2022, at the Royal Albert Hall in London, England. It is unfortunate that Adam Bishop will not be able to make an appearance this year, despite the fact that he has been training for many months. As a result of an injury, he has withdrawn from the lineup.
Adam Bishop’s withdrawal was announced both on his and Giants Live’s Instagram accounts. Although Adam does not know the extent of his injury, he stated that the injury happened in training on Monday, July 5th.
“Unfortunately I picked up an injury in training on Monday and I’ve had to withdraw from the Giants Live World Classic.”
The Welshman, Gavin Bilton, will replace Adam Bishop at the 2022 Giants Live Strongman Classic. Gavin will undoubtedly give everyone a run for their money, since he is also a world-class athlete like Adam Bishop.

2022 Giants Live Strongman Classic Lineup

- Andy Black
- Mark Felix
- Ken McClelland
- Oleksii Novikov — Reigning Champion

- Gavin Bilton

Adam Bishop is not the first athlete to withdraw, since Konstantine Janashia did the same three weeks ago, when Boudreault stepped in. They are both replaced with amazing athletes, so the credibility of the contest will not be in danger.
Gavin Bilton has already taken part in four professional Strongman competitions in 2022. Furthermore, three of those came in the last month and a half, so Gavin takes part in a competition every few weeks. However, Bilton has only started professional Strongman in 2019 and competed in 14 international and national contests. He took part in three World’s Strongest Man competitions, but never managed to get out of his groups to compete in the finals.
Gavin Bilton’s Greatest Performances
- 2021 UK’s Strongest Man — First-place
- 2020 UK’s Strongest Man — First-place
- 2022 SCL Holland — Third-place
- 2022 UK’s Strongest Man — Third-place
At 33 years old, Gavin Bilton is mostly known for his sheer size, as he is 1.98 m (6′ 6″) tall and around 205 kilograms (452 pounds) heavy. This year’s Strongman Classic events will be Dumbbell Medley, The Pillars of Hercules, Farmer’s Carry, Axle Deadlift, and Castle Stones. So, Gavin’s size could be a beneficial factor in these.

Adam Bishop also stated that he will provide more details once he determines the nature of his injury. Assuming that it is not a serious injury, we are hopeful he will be able to prepare for the 2022 Giants Live Deadlift World Championships. However, we will get the chance to follow Gavin Bilton and 11 other Strongmen compete at the 2022 Giants Live Strongman Classic. As it is set to begin in two days, there should hopefully be no more withdrawals.
