Amanda Lawrence is one of the strongest female powerlifters in the game today. However, as you can see, she is still getting stronger.
Lawrence set the world on fire with her amazing performance at the 2019 IPF World Classic Powerlifting Championships. She set new world records in the -84kg weight class, by pulling 567lb/252.5kg, while also hitting a 536lb/243kg squat, and 1351lb/613kg total. It really was an unforgettable showing from Amanda.
Nevertheless, things do not seem to be stopping there for Lawrence. She posted a video to her Instagram, showing just how much progress she is making. She hit a 567lb/257.5kg deadlift, something she had done before. However this time, Lawrence accomplish this with no straps, which she could not previously do.

“567lbs/257.5kg I CRY 😭🙌🏼 Grip has ALWAYS been the biggest limiting factor for my deadlift. TODAY I DID NOT GIVE IN. I know I’ve pulled more than this with straps, but I’ve never done this with the hansies before! 💪🏼 Takin’ BIG steps in the right direction. 💯 After this past Monday thinking I screwed up my quad, this is exactly what I needed!”
Lawrence is clearly very proud of her accomplishment, as she should be. This type of growth is exactly what fans want to see from this amazing athlete. She has been rounding out her game and increasing her strength overall. In addition to her deadlifts, she also has been working on her squats, trying to increase those as well. Subsequently, she is establishing herself as a force to be reckoned with in this division.
Amanda Lawrence will likely be competing at the Raw Nationals, early next year. It will be very interesting to see just how well this training will translate to her next big competition. Nevertheless, so far, so good for this female powerlifter.
