In an interview with MD’s Global Muscle Radio, Bob Cicherillo took it upon himself to dispel the idea that Kai Greene received a special invite to the 2019 Mr. Olympia …
“Kai was absolutely not, I repeat not, given a special invite for this Olympia. That’s something our good friend Dave Palumbo put out there for clickbait.”
But this conflicts with the interview where Palumbo interviewed the Chief Olympia Officer Dan Solomon. Now, Solomon explained that he’d love for Kai to compete this year. He said the offer is on the table, however, Greene would still have to sign contracts and qualify as any other bodybuilder.
But Solomon also ended by saying that Kai Greene knows how to get in contact with him if he wants to return to the Olympia stage… so, it may not be completely clear as to how the whole thing would play out.
But, many people are questioning Bob Chicerillo’s statements in the interview dismissing the whole thing based on this interview. So, it’s no wonder these conflicting stories would confuse some people.

But either way, Cicherillo says he would not be in favor of a special invite because it’s not fair to the hard-working athletes who earned a spot in the lineup. And he said he would make him go qualify again. Well, Solomon seems to agree and it would only be right to do it this way.
Cicherillo also made it clear that he has a problem with how Kai Greene handled certain situations in the past regarding the renewing of his contract to compete at the Olympia. Chicherillo explained that Greene made it seem like the Olympia organizers didn’t want him back on stage but that wasn’t true at all as he explains… “He wouldn’t sign the contract”.
“As a sport, we’d all love to see Kai and Phil and all the best bodybuilders in the World, of course we would. But, I ain’t begging him for it. I would never, ever give a special invite”…
He then went on to explain that there are rules set in place and no one regardless of their past performances, deserves to get a special invite unless you were a past Olympia winner.
Now, chances are Kai Greene may never compete again just because the idea doesn’t fit in line with his interests because of many factors. But, the only way we’d get an idea of how everything would play out is if Kai Greene did decide to return to the Olympia again.
