Woah, that is a pretty serious overhead squat. Cummings’ form is good, but that walkout was still nerve-wracking. The bar was incredibly wobbly, something which would throw off less experienced athletes. However that did not deter Cummings from doing the walkout, reaffirming just how skilled he is. “Slow and steady” is exactly how that needed to be done, and it led him to an impressive performance.
Cummings is no stranger to hitting massive overhead squats in the gym. His Instagram is full of videos of him in the gym, looking incredible. However this showing specifically, was on another level.
CJ Cummings is without a doubt one of the best weightlifters that the United States has to offer. He will more than likely make the coveted spot on the U.S. Olympic Weightlifting Team for the 2020 Tokyo Games. On top of that, if he continues to put in work like this, it would be little surprise to see him earn some gold.
