Former Navy SEAL and fitness enthusiast David Goggins always finds new ways to push his body past its limit. In a recent Instagram reel, David Goggins shared a brutal pull-up/chin-up workout that is sure to test your endurance and strength.

David Goggins is the epitome of mental fortitude and physical endurance, rising above the abuse he faced during his upbringing. Goggins struggled with being overweight before he turned his life around by enlisting to become a Navy SEAL.

David Goggins has since gone on to accomplish incredible feats of fitness, taking on some of the world’s most grueling endurance challenges including ultramarathons, triathlons, and ultra-distance cycling events. David Goggins holds many achievements, including breaking the Guinness World Record for most pull-ups in 2013 having completed 4,030 in just 17 hours. While the record has been broken, this earned him a spot in the International Sports Hall of Fame.

Retired Navy SEAL David Goggins Shares His Pull-Up Workout: “Give This One a Shot!”

Goggins hasn’t lost his ability to execute a massive amount of pull-ups in one go even after all this time. In a recent Instagram post, David Goggins shares a new workout where he encourages his fans to follow along.

“Haven’t done this workout in a while. I get asked a lot about workouts. Give this one a shot!” David Goggins wrote.

The workout is made up of 100 pull-up reps in 10 minutes. From there, a three-minute rest is taken. This is followed up by five more pull-ups. Rinse and repeat five reps and five seconds of rest until failure.

After that, take 10 minutes of ‘easy cardio’ to recover before performing 100 chin-ups in under 10 minutes. Utilize another three-minute rest period, then complete five chin-ups with five seconds of rest until failure.

5 pull-ups followed by 5 seconds rest until you can’t complete 5 anymore”

When it comes to workouts, David Goggins goes hard. Previously, Goggins and renowned endurance athlete Cameron Hanes got together to destroy an intense workout. Goggins has shared that he doesn’t take time off training even when Mother Nature is extreme and revealed his reasoning behind this. 

“Sometimes, your motivation needs to be because no one else wants to fucking do it. We need doctors. We need fucking lawyers. We need dentists, we need teachers, we also need fucking savages.”

Goggins isn’t just an incredible athlete, he is also a public speaker who has inspired hundreds of thousands of people to improve their lives. While sometimes his words may come across as harsh, he reminds his fans that there is no room for excuses when trying to better yourself.
