Bodybuilding star Dexter Jackson took inspiration from Kevin Levrone’s latest physique transformation. On July 19, 2025, Jackson shared that he is starting a “get-in-shape” challenge where he’ll focus on cleaner eating and consistent training.

Dexter Jackson led a one-of-a-kind career in the IFBB Pro League. In 2009, his achievements in the sport were set in stone: he upset bodybuilding legend Jay Cutler to win his lone Mr. Olympia title. Beyond his contributions on the Olympia stage, Jackson also holds the record for most Arnold Classic titles at five.

“The Blade” boasts exceptional longevity, having secured dozens upon dozens of pro show victories. He even claimed the Masters Olympia title back in 2012. Though his training doesn’t look as heavy and intense as it once was, Jackson still hits workouts regularly in retirement at 55 years old.

Dexter Jackson Vows to Get In Shape After Being Inspired by Kevin Levrone’s Physique Transformation

In the Instagram post, Jackson complimented Levrone on his latest progress, which he said has nudged him to get back in shape.

“I’ve been seeing a lot of old dudes out here getting in shape. I just want to say now it’s time for me to get my butt in gear. Shout out to big bro, Kevin Levrone for the inspiration. Man, you are looking amazing. I just want to say that. You have now motivated me big bro. I got to get my butt in shape.”

“No more walking past the cookie jar and grabbing and reaching and getting a couple cookies every day. I got to cut that out. I got a drawer full of candy over there and potato chips — man, they are the death of me, boy.”

Jackson shared that he hasn’t let himself go, but wants to tighten his diet so he can have a visible six-pack again.

“It’s time to get in shape. I’m not bad at all. If you look at me in my clothes, you’d think I’m in shape but boy, I ain’t go no abs. It’s time to get abs. I’ve seen Kevin’s abs, it’s time to do something. I got to get it now. There’s a lot of guys out there that have gotten in shape. Jay Cutler, he did his before and after, and he looked amazing.”

“Dennis Wolf, there’s a few guys that look amazing condition-wise. I look amazing because I ain’t got all that muscle anymore. I’m pretty slim, my stomach flat, I just ain’t got no abs.”

Looking ahead, Jackson intends to start his get-in-shape challenge in one week:

“Kevin, you’ve lit a fire under my butt, you and Jay and some of you other greats out there,” he shared. “I’m looking to do my little get-in-shape challenge after my show next week.”

Levrone opened up on how he transformed his body. He has used intermittent fasting and shared that his training centers around athletic functionality rather than chasing hypertrophy gains.

Levrone’s physique transformation sent ripples through the bodybuilding community. For Dexter Jackson, he took it as an opportunity to go all-in on his fitness for the second half of 2025.
