Reigning Mr. Olympia champion Hadi Choopan is just weeks away from defending his title on bodybuilding’s biggest stage. Determined to keep the crown in Iran, Choopan looked peeled in a recent physique update, courtesy of his trainer Hany Rambod six weeks from the 2023 Olympia.
‘The Persian Wolf’ had a magnificent year in 2022 when he overpowered runner-up Derek Lunsford and Nick Walker to take home the Sandow trophy. With the support of his countrymen who surprised him with a hero’s welcome, Choopan is on track to defeat his adversaries once again.
This year the competition is cutthroat and many athletes are out for blood and glory including Samson Dauda who just won the 2023 Arnold Classic. He boasts a freakishly large build as he continues to focus on mass and conditioning, especially in regard to back development.

Hadi Choopan tends to keep quiet during the off-season leaving fans to anticipate his progress until the stage presents itself. Over the last few weeks, Choopan has progressively been sharing more and more updates and it has been worth the wait.

Choopan’s update even got a response from former four-time Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler:
“That’s insane. Hadi ain’t playing”
Many of Hadi Choopan’s opponents have expressed their confidence about beating the champ this November. Nick Walker is adamant he has what it takes to steal the throne and doesn’t think Choopan stands a chance against his mass and conditioning. The 29-year-old star is convinced he is unbeatable and will become the next Mr. Olympia.
On the other hand, teammate Derek Lunsford has only shown support for Hadi Choopan, congratulating him after his Mr. Olympia win as well as thanking coach Hany Rambod for everything he has done. While Derek Lunsford has kept his head down to work, he is considered a massive threat to the title with his amazing conditioning and vascularity.
This year’s contest looks to be one of the best ever with bodybuilding’s top names facing off on stage to prove once and for all who is the best. The 2023 Mr. Olympia will be an unforgettable affair given the lineup of talent expected to make their way to Orlando, Florida and Choopan will no doubt have his hands full.
