The Strength of the X-Frame
Hany Rambod was impressed by Urs Kalecinski’s X-frame, pointing out that the bodybuilder is doing a great job at showing off his size, despite not being as wide naturally as some of his rivals. Moreover, Urs shows off incredible striations in his quads, thus unveiling amazing detail of the muscles.
“The X-frame that he carries here and here is looking really, really good. You can really see the pec development; The shoulder development looks right on point…
His quads, especially the sartorius muscles, are looking awesome…
He’s not naturally as wide as Wesley or some of these other guys, but he really is trying to show what he has to be able to accentuate the x-frame”
Perfecting the Physique — Areas for Improvement
Triceps & Forearms
Hany Rambod believes that Urs Kalecinski has many incredible strengths, but also a few parts of his physique to work on. Firstly, his biceps are decent and his conditioning is great. However, what Hany would love to see is a bit more arm thickness from Urs, especially when it comes to his triceps. Moreover, considering who he is going up against, Hany also advised Urs to work on his forearms.
“What I’d like to see is that tricep fullness… I would like him to be able to fill in to try to create even more width. That helps that illusion of width on that front lat spread…
His pecs look really good; he could use a little more upper pec. But again, I’m nitpicking here… It is going to show an even more dramatic x-frame as he builds his lats…
If he could work a little bit more on overall arm thickness, it would make a huge, huge difference.”

Back + Training Tips
While analyzing Urs Kalecinski’s ‘Back Double Bicep’ pose, Hany Rambod spotted some more areas for improvement, which should be his priority for now. His legs are once again impeccable, but the main problem that Urs faces is the width of his back. In Hany’s opinion, making improvements in this area could help Kalecinski step up to a whole new level.
How should Urs Kalecinski improve his back. Well, Hany Rambod isolates Rows as the most important exercise. Specifically, he believes that bent-over rows with the reverse grip could help Urs engage the lower lat area. However, doing lat pulldowns with multiple grips helps activate the back via multiple angles.
“The width here (lats) is one of the most important things that Urs has to work on going into the 2025 season…
He’s not naturally super wide in the first place, but if he can keep building that back up, that’s going to help tremendously with that optical illusion of width…
As he gets wider, he wants to be able to really hit those lower trap rhomboid areas, so that can be able to really pop… Right now, he is losing on that pose because of the lack of density and width necessary to show the separation.
Again, he is doing a great job. I am being super, super picky.”
The Importance of Posing
While looking at Urs Kalecinski’s ‘Side Chest’ pose, Hany Rambod noticed some technical issues. Namely, he didn’t have many remarks regarding Urs’ physique, but had something to say about his posing technique. His main advice was twisting and opening up the upper body, while blowing out more air to keep his midsection narrow, thus showing more width and size to the judges.
“The judges will not judge you on what you look like. They judge you on what you present.
If you look amazing but you’re not flexing your legs but they are ripped, they’re not going to judge you on the fact that you have ripped legs… It is really really important that you present well…
If he was twisting and rotating his body in that direction, his upper body, keeping his legs exactly the way that they are, what he’s going to be able to do is show much, much more of that width.”
The Final Rating: 8.5
Hany Rambod feels that Urs Kalecinski is going down a great road, but just needs to make some more improvement to reach that highest step. Urs is 26-years-old, which means that he still has time to perfect his physique and potentially claim the greatest title that the sport has to offer.

Urs Kalecinski made a strategic decision to not compete at the 2025 Arnold Classic, as he wants to dedicate more time and prepare for the 2025 Mr. Olympia. Seeing that the 6x champion, Chris Bumstead, decided to retire, Urs might be the next in line to sit on the throne. So, perhaps the tips from Hany Rambod will be crucial for Urs to finally move up from third-place.
