IFBB Pro Women’s Physique competitor Jessica Rivera has passed away. The news was first reported on Sept. 21, 2025, by bodybuilding veteran Justin Rodriguez, who served as an early coach during her career.

Rivera began her career as a Women’s Bodybuilder, earning her IFBB Pro card at the 2016 North American Championships. Her symmetry, dense muscle, and tight waist set the perfect foundation for her success — and it didn’t take long for her to realize how to leverage those strengths onstage.

She graced some of the most prestigious competitions at the height of her career, including the Toronto Pro Supershow, New York Pro, Chicago Pro, and Pittsburgh Pro, never shying away from showdowns with the upper echelon of her category.

The bodybuilding community has been shaken up by a number of deaths lately. Erik Markov, who recently earned his IFBB Pro card at the 2025 Amateur Olympia Spain, died, and still, no cause of death has been made public.

Additionally, 32-year-old Bikini bodybuilder Luz Maria Barrera Agaton was found dead in Mexico at the bottom of a hotel swimming pool. Police have continued to investigate and haven’t ruled out the possibility of someone else being involved. There’s also been chatter surrounding the sad death of Jodi Vance, a coach and athlete who passed away during the 2025 Arnold Sports Festival.

Jessica Rivera will always be remembered for her competitive drive and gentle personality. Our team at Fitness Volt extends our deepest condolences to her friends and family.
