John Haack was completely and totally prepared for the Arnold Classic this weekend. He showed just how ready he was, by setting a new PR in the gym.
Haack was looking for his second powerlifting win of 2020, at the Arnold Classic this weekend. Not only that, but he was looking to capitalize on the record-setting performances he has been having lately. However, with those plans being derailed by coronavirus concerns, he was left unable to do so. Therefore he was left to find another way to capitalize on this work he has been doing.
Well, fear not because John Haack definitely found a way to put his gains to good use. He took to the gym, as shown in a recent Instagram post, and tossed around some serious weight. The highlight of this session came in the form of a massive 826lb deadlift, for a new personal record.
Check out the insane lift:
“Well with the Arnold cancelled, decided to hot my last heavy deadlift today. PR at 375kgs/826lbs moving slower than I would like. On that @strength_cartel dead game.”

This is honestly one of the few times Haack has been seen struggling a bit while doing a lift. Although that is not surprising, considering the weight. Not to mention, this is more than ten pounds heavier than his previous PR, which he hit only a couple of weeks prior. Here he is, hitting an 815lb deadlift last month:
“7 reds a side looks pretty sweet. Worked up to a PR on deadlifts at 370kgs/815lbs after a single at 360kgs/793lbs. Thank you @f3.fitness for having me.”
It is certainly a shame that John Haack will not be able to compete this weekend. Judging by the work he had been putting in here, it seems like he was fully prepared to deliver an excellent showing.
