V-taper, aesthetic shape, and cartoonish proportions — reigning two-time 212 Olympia Keone Pearson has them all headed into his title defense. In a recent post made to Instagram on July 9, 2025, ‘The Prodigy’ showcased his latest physique update 14 weeks out from competing.
Keone Pearson transformed his physique to become a superpower in the Men’s 212 Bodybuilding division. He jumped from sixth place to earning gold at the 2023 Olympia contest, where he dethroned former two-time 212 Olympia Shaun Clarida.
Despite bringing explosive fullness and diced conditioning a year later, Clarida was unable to get past Pearson at the 2024 Mr. Olympia. In light of Pearson’s continued dominance in the category, many voices within the bodybuilding community, including Jay Cutler, believe it’s only a matter of time before fans see him in the Men’s Open.
However, despite the temptation of moving into a division without weight limits, Pearson has unfinished business in 212. It’ll be years before he ever catches up with seven-time 212 king Flex Lewis, but that won’t stop him from building his legacy.

While the bodybuilding community thinks Pearson could make a splash in the Open, some veterans argue he could dominate the class. During a podcast episode of The Menace, 1990s standout Dennis James shared that Keone Pearson is good enough to win the Men’s Open Mr. Olympia title right now. Meanwhile, bodybuilding legend Ronnie Coleman predicted Pearson to win the Open Olympia in two or three years.
On top of that, Pearson has proven he can hold his own and train among some top names in the Open. He teamed up with Canadian IFBB Pro Regan Grimes for a grueling workout where the duo focused on sculpting bigger backs. He also joined Martin Fitzwater, the fourth-best bodybuilder in the world, for a hamstring and glute-focused workout.
Keone Pearson is putting in the work to ensure he holds on to the crown later this season. The 2025 Mr. Olympia contest is scheduled for October 9-12 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
