We also translated the following message that she shared in the post. It really shows how driven she is to reach her full potential despite having to overcome adversity and some unfortunate circumstances that she has experienced recently.
“1st official competition of this year 2020 at @_silentworker meet! I would like to come back to this preparation and competition because once again despite the fact that it’s been 5 years since I’ve been in the force, I still learned. It has been a complicated preparation with a huge drop in performance, a psoas injury and a huge physical and mental fatigue.”
“Until the last moment I wondered if I was going to compete because I didn’t feel ready or confident. But my coach @thepanash reminded me that not all preps go the way you want and that you have to learn how to manage it because it could happen on an international deadline. That the deadline will be there no matter what happens. That I might not be at 100% of my capacity but that I will still have to give my 100% of the day at time T! To be honest, that day I didn’t believe in myself, I doubted my abilities, I didn’t even think of squatting 200 or tipping 110.”
“It’s in these moments that I thank to be so well surrounded by people who push me every day, who remind me of what I am capable of, who believe in me when I am no longer able ♥️ This meeting was for me a beautiful lesson, a new learning experience. Sometimes you are stronger than you think, that it’s not because a preparation goes wrong that the meeting will be catastrophic, that the mindset is so important and that whatever happens, you have to give 100% of what you have on the day even if it’s not 100% of what you’re usually capable of.”
“I would also like to thank @kedrictsg who has been following me for a few months now for my nutrition and who is also an infallible support ♥️ Thanks to my sponsors @sbdapparel and @denovosupps who are always a huge support. And finally, thank you all for your messages of encouragement, support, etc….”
Lya Bavoil is really proving that she’s one of the best powerlifters in the world and we’re confident she’s only get better from here.
