Mahailya Reeves recently made waves after putting on a mind-blowing performance at the 2022 AMPAMP Nationals. However, Mahailya’s Bench Press Record garnered the most attention, so her prowess in other lifts was not recognized as much. Well, Mahailya is on her way to becoming an elite overall powerlifter, since she is just short of deadlifting 500 pounds at the moment. In fact, during a recent training session, Mahailya managed to claim a new deadlift PR of 490 pounds (222.2 kilograms).
Mahailya Reeves only used a lifting belt to complete the lift, making it raw by powerlifting regulations. Reeves also pulled the weight by using a conventional stance and a mixed grip. She absolutely smashed the deadlift from the floor and only really encountered some difficulties in the lockout phase. However, it was obvious from the start that Mahailya would make easy work of her new PR.
Mahailya Reeves shared her newest accomplishment through an Instagram post. The first slide displays her final warm-up of 455 pounds (206.4 kilograms), while the second slide displays her 490-pound (222.2-kilogram) deadlift PR.

Originating from Florida, Mahailya Reeves has been interested in lifting weights since the age of 10-years-old. She was even able to squat 125 pounds quite comfortably during her first training session. However, her talent really got accentuated around the age of 15, since Mahailya blew everyone’s minds with a 355-pound (161-kilogram) bench press. In addition, she is now very close to pressing 400 pounds raw.
In spite of being only 18 years old, Mahailya Reeves’ powerlifting career has already been quite successful and lengthy. She took part in 20 sanctioned meets and came out victorious in 18 of them. Among them are prestigious national, state, and regional contests. Mahailya hasn’t revealed where she will be competing next, but there is a possibility that we may see her take part in the 2022 World Classic & Equipped Sub-Junior & Junior Powerlifting Championships, which will take place August 27 – September 04, 2022, in Istanbul, Turkey.
Mahailya Reeves’ Competition PRs
Squat: 245 kilograms (540.1 pounds) — (2019 USAPL Raw Nationals)
Bench Press: 172.3 kilograms (380 pounds) — (2022 FHSAA Class 1A Region 2 Meet)
Judging from Mahailya Reeves’ recent training footage, she will definitely be in contention for some deadlift records in the future. In addition, if she keeps progressing through all of her lifts like this, Mahailya will very quickly become one of the greatest powerlifters in the world. In other words, it’s incredible to think what she’ll be able to achieve with a few more years of experience.
