There is a reason why Nabil Lahlou goes by the nickname of “French Phenom” and he reminded us of that once again this weekend. He competed in the 2022 USPA Good Guys Un-Invitational, which took place on October 8th, in Salisbury, Maryland. As usual, Nabil took part in the 67.5-kilogram (148.8-pound) weight class, but this time he scored a brand new All-Time Raw World Record.

Nabil Lahlou had an incredible overall performance, but what stood out the most was his deadlift. This is the event in which he set the new World Record by deadlifting 701 pounds (318 kilograms). The previous record stood at 688.9 pounds (312.5 kilograms), which Christian Kearney set at the 2021 RawIronPL Legends of Iron. So, Nabil is now the first person in the 67.5-kilogram (148.8-pound) weight class to reach the 700-pound milestone.

Nabil used a sumo stance and a hook grip to accomplish this new All-Time World Record. Regarding the equipment, as he competed in the raw division, Nabil only utilized a lifting belt and some chalk. In addition, this competition was drug-tested, so it’s clear that Nabil does not use PEDs.

Nabil Lahlou’s recent deadlift is also at least 4.7x his bodyweight, which is a staggering feat. Apart from this, Nabil also scored 10x his bodyweight Total, having accumulated 1,494 pounds (678 kilograms) across all three lifts.

  • Squat: 507 pounds (230 kilograms)
  • Bench Press: 286 pounds (130 kilograms)
  • Deadlift: 701 pounds (318 kilograms) — U67.5KG Raw Deadlift All-Time World Record
  • Total: 1,494 pounds (678 kilograms) — Competition PR

Nabil Lahlou did not manage to claim a new squat competition PR, since he had previously squatted 523.6 pounds (237.5 kilograms) at the 2022 USAPL Got ‘Em Mustache Classic. The bench press, however, was equal to his previous competition PR from the 2022 USAPL Got ‘Em Mustache Classic as well.
