The Men’s Open lineup at the 2024 Mr. Olympia has taken another hit just two weeks before the show kicks off. On September 25, 2024, Nathan De Asha‘s coach Stefan Kienzl confirmed that he won’t compete at the event’s 60th anniversary because he wants time to improve his physique for ‘bigger plans’ in the future.

Nathan De Asha built considerable momentum this year thanks to his triumph at the 2024 Mr. Big Evolution Pro; he overwhelmed former two-time Arnold Classic champion William Bonac to claim gold. Then, he tested his mettle at the 2024 Flex Weekend Pro, where he bagged silver behind the champion Behrooz Tabani.

Despite earning his ticket to compete at the biggest bodybuilding event of the year, De Asha continued to bet on himself. He narrowly took second place at the 2024 Dubai Pro, once again falling short of the conditioning and shape displayed by Tabani.

Fans were thrilled that De Asha was on track to compete at this year’s Olympia, especially since he was forced to bow out last year due to visa issues. However, it now appears De Asha won’t compete on the prestigious stage, instead, he plans to improve his physique for endeavors down the line.

Here was the statement made by the Nick’s Strength and Power YouTube channel, reportedly confirming that De Asha will not compete at 2024 Mr. Olympia.

“Apparently Nathan De Asha is out of the 2024 Mr. Olympia according to his coach. Stefan AKA boss of outlaw, in a recent interview in German, on the RepOne YouTube channel.”

“So what he says is Nathan is not doing the Olympia this year. He also says it’s not because of legal issues, he said the reason is because Nathan has bigger plans and wants to improve after having such a long season and I guess, meaning because he competed so often,” he shared.

Nathan De Asha isn’t the only top-tier Open Pro to bow out of the 2024 Mr. Olympia competition. Tonio Burton, who claimed gold at the 2024 California State Pro, decided against the biggest contest of the year because he and his coach also believe he needs time to improve his physique. Moreover, they want Burton to spend some time off performance-enhancing drugs for health reasons.

The unfortunate streak of Mr. Olympia absences continues for Nathan De Asha. Fans look forward to seeing what he has in store on the horizon as he takes this time to refine and build an even more impressive physique.
