It’s been a contest prep that bodybuilder Patrick Moore will likely never forget. On January 26, 2025, Moore told the story behind his viral 2-on-1 street fight just six weeks out from the 2025 Arnold Classic.
In a previous Instagram stories post, Patrick Moore explained that he was in a street fight outside the Leader Fitness Gym. Moore was seen hanging out by his car before being called over by a man named Patrick who worked at the gym.
They quickly got into a scuffle with the man attempting to punch Moore. The ground was icy and wet, leading Moore to approach the situation with caution. He ended up landing a well-timed right hook to floor the attacker. Shortly after, an onlooker got involved and began trying to choke Moore from behind.

According to Moore, this fight stemmed from an argument about gym memberships and money. However, as a former Golden Gloves boxing competitor, Moore proved the two men who attacked him bit off more than they could chew, as shown in the recorded footage.
Patrick Moore Tells Story Behind 2-On-1 Fight While Dieting for the 2025 Arnold Classic
In a recent YouTube video, Moore revealed that gym membership disagreements led to the viral street fight encounter.
“So I start over here at this gym. First off, the membership not being paid is some stupid shit. That’s so annoying because rather than going and posting all the text messages and the bank account drafts and all that stuff because the membership is automatically drafted every month. This is what kicked off the whole issue.”
He explained that his key tag to open the Leader Fitness Gym doors stopped working, which he found peculiar since he already paid his dues two weeks prior.
“I come out, my couple clients come out and this is at 5:30 in the morning so, fresh ice on the ground. So we get there, and I try to hit my key tag on the door and it turns up red which was a shocker because they had just drafted my bank account for my membership two weeks prior.”
After talking with a woman at the front desk, Moore revealed that his membership was blocked because he didn’t pay ‘gym rent.’
“My client hit his, and it opened so we went inside. At that time, he had a front desk girl, a woman who had been there for a while, her name was Misty.
I said hey when you get a chance can you see what’s going on with my key tag it’s not opening the door. She said oh, Patrick sent a message late last night to block your membership because you hadn’t paid the gym rent.”
Moore wanted to keep the ordeal non-confrontational but ultimately had to defend himself.
“If you rewind that video, you’ll see me standing next to the car which is my car right? That’s when he walked up. Right here, I stopped, and I put my phone in and my hand is up, right?
I said hey man this is really a conversation we can go inside and handle this. I’m five weeks out from a show I’m not about to fight you on some ice or wet ground.”
After the man screamed profanity, Moore allowed him to initiate the fight before taking action. As a former Golden Gloves boxing competitor, Moore understands how to engage in combat.
“He immediately goes fuck that, fuck that. All this profanity. He’s just screaming them out. I walked up and I allowed him to take the first couple of swings because I knew at that point,” shared Moore. “Yeah, I have played in Golden Gloves tournaments. That’s something I did for quite a long time.”
“He put his hands up and took a swing right there, he took a swing. I said, okay, you really want to go? We mixed it up. At that time, I remember saying oh you’re kind of nervous. He was all over the place. Mind you, I have not put on gloves in 12-14 years and I’m dieting as Chris knows. I’m not 100 percent. I get him with a few good shots thinking it would deter him but it’s not enough.”
He mentioned that the man he fought seemed ‘hyped’ and ‘on something’ given his frantic behavior.
“When he took that cheap shot, I said okay, I’m about to put this guy down,” shared Moore. “He would not back off. I could tell he was either on something or I don’t know what had him so hyped.”
After being hit with a cheap shot, Moore retaliated and told the man he wanted to kill him.
“When someone grabs you and hits you with a cheap shot. A switch goes off. Again, I’m not locked in thinking we’re really about to fight,” shared Moore. “Once he hit me with that cheap shot, then now I’m going to try to kill you.”
As of this writing, it’s unclear whether law enforcement got involved or if any of the parties sustained serious injuries. Moore last competed at the 2024 Legion Sports Fest Pro, where he earned seventh place. While this ordeal likely affected his preparations, Moore believes he is still on track to register an impressive performance at the upcoming 2025 Arnold Classic.
