Paul Love was a true legend in the sport of bodybuilding. He tragically lost his life at the age of 86 years old.
Love was a true icon in the bodybuilding world, participating as both a competitor and promoter. Throughout the 50’s and 60’s he competed as a pro, taking the stage in some big contests. However he had his biggest impact in the 80’s, as a promoter, putting on shows like the World Games Bodybuilding Championships.
Unfortunately, according to a Facebook post from Shawn Ray, Paul Love has passed away. The heartbreaking message did not reveal any details on the circumstances of his passing. However, he revealed the sentiments of the community, who will definitely miss this legendary figure.

Ms. Olympia competitor Cathey Palyo offered her condolences
“Sincere condolences. I knew Paul and he will be missed greatly.”
1983 Olympia winner Samir Bannout was clearly affected by this tragedy.
“OMG, whatta bad news about Paul Love,
I remember guest posing for Paul at his show in San Jose in the early 80’s… a very nice man indeed! May his soul R.I.P!! Truly saddened by the news. My condolences to his family”
Natural bodybuilder John Hansen offered words of kindness as well.
