In preparation for the Kern US Open which is set to take place on Saturday, April 27th through Monday, April 28th, Marianna Gasparyan, 29, posts an Instagram video of her final set of heavy squats with a weight of 235kg/517lbs. And she does it with ease like we expected, seeing as she has the second highest Wilks score in women’s Open powerlifting.

She wrote the following on her post... “That’s what I’ve been prepping for in the last couple of days. My last heavy squat session before the long awaited entrance on the platform at Kern US Open. 517 lbs 235kg for 5 easy reps.”

Now, Gasparyan is no stranger to heavy training and setting World records with a 1245.6 raw total and a 1300.7 total in wraps, so her easy 5-rep squat was no biggie but her bodyweight of 60kg/132lbs is what makes it so impressive.

In March, she squatted 265kg/586lbs in the Animal cage during the Arnold Classic Sports Festival which is just insane, especially seeing as she didn’t have to put up much of a fight! Check it out…

Marianna Gasparyan won the Kern US Open last year with a 562kg/1,204 lb total and she’s only getting better but this year we shall see just how good she really is!

Best of luck to her for the Kern US Open…
