‘The King’ of bodybuilding, Ronnie Coleman, has faced many difficulties in retirement regarding his health; however, he has been on the mend as of late. In a recent YouTube video, Ronnie Coleman sat down with Bob Cicherillo and revealed that his stem cell treatments have kept him from needing further surgeries, even after suffering from a herniated disk.
Ronnie Coleman dominated the bodybuilding stage in the late 90s and 2000s, bringing nothing but pure muscle and conditioning that resulted in him earning eight Mr. Olympia titles before he finally stepped away from the sport.
Ronnie Coleman was known for his rigorous training routines and the years of heavy lifting have taken their toll on the bodybuilding legend. Since retiring, Coleman has unfortunately been dealing with a multitude of injuries that have led to several surgeries.
In 2018, Ronnie Coleman believed that he would never walk unassisted again following a set of questionable surgeries. However, since then, Coleman has undergone red light therapy along with acupuncture and cryotherapy to help repair the damage to his neck, shoulders, back, and hips. This, alongside stem cell therapy, has opened up the possibility that Coleman could walk again in the future.

Ronnie Coleman began receiving stem cell treatments. In the early stages, Coleman explained that it helped completely alleviate his pain although it hadn’t begun helping with his mobility. Still, with multiple sessions, it could begin to regenerate nerves.
Ronnie Coleman Avoids Surgery Thanks to Stem Cell Treatment: ‘Best Thing Ever’
Recently, Ronnie Coleman sat down with bodybuilding commentator Bob Cicherillo to discuss how he has been progressing. Coleman revealed that the stem cell treatments have been working incredibly and have helped not only rid him of pain but also prevent him from needing any additional surgeries.
“Oh man, I need a break. 13 (surgeries) and man it’s been rough, but you know you can never keep a good man down.”
“Now, it looks like you’re back in business. You are getting around a little bit better and you’ve been doing some stem cell treatments and some other things like that. How’s that working for you? You feeling any difference?” Bob Cicherillo asks.
“Stem cell is the most amazing thing that god has created right now for me. It really has does some amazing things for me. Number one, and the best thing ever, it kept me from going under the knife once again because I had a herniated disk in my mid-back and it was the most painful thing ever I’ve ever experience but after about four treatments of stem cell it is 100% healed and I have no more pain. Praise god” Ronnie Coleman said.
Ronnie Coleman was happy to share that he is doing well and is looking forward to being more present at bodybuilding events.
“I’m doing wonderful. I’m doing great. 17 hours on a plane ain’t nothing but a peanut.”
Expert on the musculoskeletal system and mobility, orthopedic surgeon Dr. Antonio Webb previously reacted to Ronnie Coleman’s 13 surgeries where he advised the bodybuilding legend and his patients to avoid squatting because it can lead to injuries due to the pressure on the spine.
“One of the biggest things that I try to stress to my patients and try to harp on is that to avoid squatting. Squatting does a lot of, it can cause a lot of injury to your back and to the discs or the cushions in your back. The cushions are the shock absorbers of your back” said Dr. Webb
Ronnie Coleman was aware of the risks involved in becoming a top-tier bodybuilder. His dedication to being the best came above all else, allowing him to conquer the Men’s Open division. While he is now struggling with the repercussions of training at such an intense level, fans are excited to hear that his stem cell treatments are helping him recover.
