HYROX Division Weight Reference
Every HYROX race uses the same equipment weights regardless of venue. The weights below are the official competition standards. The main differences between Open and Pro are the sled weights (50 kg heavier on push, and 50 kg heavier on pull for men) and the sandbag and wall ball loads. Understanding these differences is essential for choosing the right division.
| Station | Women Open | Women Pro / Men Open | Men Pro |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sled Push (50m) | 102 kg | 152 kg | 202 kg |
| Sled Pull (50m) | 78 kg | 103 kg | 153 kg |
| Farmers Carry (200m) | 2 x 16 kg | 2 x 24 kg | 2 x 32 kg |
| Sandbag Lunges (100m) | 10 kg | 20 kg | 30 kg |
| Wall Balls (100 reps) | 4 kg / 9ft target | 6 kg / 9ft (W) 10ft (M) | 9 kg / 10ft target |
| SkiErg (1,000m) | No added weight (all divisions) | ||
| Burpee Broad Jump (80m) | Bodyweight only (all divisions) | ||
| Rowing (1,000m) | No added weight (all divisions) | ||
Sled weights include the sled itself. Farmers Carry weights are per hand. Wall Ball target heights are from the floor.
How the Division Selector Works
The selector evaluates your running fitness and strength relative to each division's equipment requirements. The primary threshold for Pro eligibility is the sled push: if your estimated sled push capacity (derived from deadlift relative to bodyweight) is below the Pro weight threshold, Open is recommended. A deadlift of at least 1.8x bodyweight is a reasonable proxy for Pro sled readiness for men; 1.6x for women.
Your 5K time provides the running component. Athletes with a 5K under 22 minutes (men) or 25 minutes (women) have the aerobic base for Pro. Below those thresholds, Open allows you to compete without being underpowered on the running segments, which is just as important as managing the station weights.
When a partner is indicated, the selector also evaluates whether Doubles is optimal. Doubles is particularly valuable when one partner has significantly stronger running and the other has significantly better functional fitness, creating a complementary pairing that can outperform either partner's solo Open result.
