Bodybuilder Sam Sulek is heading into his next amateur contest with significant momentum. On February 18, 2025, he walked fans through his diabolical arm workout for a massive pump in prep for the 2025 Arnold Amateur event, scheduled for February 27 in Columbus, Ohio.
“This is going to be a skin-splitting pump. I’m way more full than these last few weeks,” he shared.
After years of teasing his splash into bodybuilding, Sam Sulek finally competed in an amateur event. He won gold in Classic Physique overall at the 2025 Legends Classic to secure his qualification for the upcoming Arnold Amateur show.
With names such as Andrew Jacked kickstarting his career at the Arnold Amateur, the event is held in high regard so Sulek is planning to bring an even better package than what he displayed in Las Vegas. If he’s successful, he’ll earn his IFBB Pro card.

Sulek expected a massive pump from this workout given that he recently filled back up with carbs and rehydrated following his last contest appearance.
“For today’s lift, I’m going to be extra pumped up from having all that extra water in my system. I’m on the rebound of having filled back up from that sort of re-feed rehydration and then I should level out back to normal probably within the next couple of days.”
He plans to back off training and calories moving into the Arnold Amateur event.
“The next week or so, actually, a little longer than a week. It will be exactly the same game plan as normal, dieting, cardio, calories, training, and then the whole right before the show situation we’ll repeat with backing off on the training, backing off on the calories, water loading, water pulling, but that’s for later. Let’s focus on a freaky arm day today.”
During the workout, Sulek talked about wanting to drop more body fat before making his way on stage.
“Don’t get crazy attached to any one specific state of being. Set that as your new baseline because if I set this look as my baseline right now, big and lean and pretty veiny with full arms and everything else, then what am I supposed to do, feel like shit the rest of the day? It’s just not how it works.
Over the course of these next few days, I’m going to start to flatten out again and in combination with this cardio, this fat layer should get just a touch thinner right, because I’m going to be in a deficit. I’m going to be burning some body fat between now and the Arnold Amateur. So I should be a touch leaner. I’m going to make sure my prep and carb-up keeps me as dry as possible,” he explained.
Voices of the sport like coach Chris Aceto have doubts about Sulek earning his IFBB Pro card at the Arnold Amateur event. If Sulek is successful, even more eyes will be on him as he looks to pursue a successful career in the Classic Physique category. Don’t miss his next performance in less than two weeks!
