The 2025 Arnold Sports Festival is rapidly approaching (Feb 27 to March 2), and athletes aren’t taking chances with their preparations. On December 27, 2024, reigning Mr. Olympia champion Samson Dauda shared a colossal physique update nine weeks out from the big event.
Samson Dauda is riding high after claiming his first Mr. Olympia title against contenders Hadi Choopan and Derek Lunsford. He brought a showstopping combination of size, fullness, and definition to become the 19th athlete to earn the coveted Sandow trophy.
The Arnold Classic competitor lineup was finally revealed and bodybuilding fans expect an all-out war at the second biggest show of the year. In addition to ‘The Nigerian Lion’ aiming to win his second AC championship, Derek Lunsford is on a quest for redemption after dropping his title to Dauda at the last Mr. Olympia.
Aside from those two elite threats, many expect Andrew Jacked and former Olympia champion Brandon Curry to be in the mix. With so many top names on one roster, predicting the outcome has become a challenging task. Nevertheless, all bodybuilding veterans thus far have backed Dauda to emerge victorious.

Samson Dauda Stuns With Massive Physique Update 9 Weeks from 2025 Arnold Classic, Can Anyone Stop Him?
In a recent Instagram post, Dauda showed off the fruits of his labor as he prepares once again for the Arnold Classic.

Samson Dauda must get through Derek Lunsford if he hopes to become a two-time champion. Despite coming up short in Las Vegas, Nevada and no longer working with his former coach Hany Rambod, Lunsford appears more motivated than ever. He recently shared a full day of eating as he preps his physique for battle against Dauda.
While it seems Samson Dauda is the favorite to win the 2025 Arnold Classic, bodybuilding veteran Samir Bannout made it clear he believes Lunsford is going to give the towering mass monster ‘a big run for his money,’ proving that this victory won’t be easy to obtain.
“His body is unbelievable. His muscle size belongs to someone like 6″2′. I’m serious. Unbelievable,” he shared. “I honestly think Derek could give him a big run for his money but I think the end result is going to end up with Samson first.”
