Powerlifting and Boxing Star Stefi Cohen Arrested for Distributing Woman’s Nude Photos Online

On Tuesday, May 28, 2024, powerlifter-turned-boxer Stefi Cohen was arrested after she allegedly hacked her ex-boyfriend’s computer and published nude photos of another woman online. Cohen, whose real name is Stefanie Cohen Magarici, faced her charges before a judge in an orange jumpsuit, according to NBC Miami. 

Stefi Cohen was charged with four crimes, including sexual cyber-harassment, offenses against computer users, criminal mischief, and resisting arrest without violence. The computer, which belonged to her ex-boyfriend, contained explicit images of the victim in his Apple iCloud account. Cohen managed to access the account by guessing commonly used passwords. 

The victim filed a report against Cohen in November 2023, where she explained to detectives what had happened. Cohen saved the photos before allegedly sharing them in a chat with multiple people. Authorities revealed that the chat included explicit photos and confirmed they were shared with malicious intent.

Police arrived at Cohen’s Loquat Avenue home on Tuesday and initiated the arrest. Officers revealed that she “did not comply and began to walk at a fast pace back to her residence.” Cohen resisted arrest by tensing up her arms as officers attempted to place her in handcuffs. Once she was restrained, Cohen tried to subdue one of the officers by leg-sweeping him to the ground. 

Further, once Cohen was in the police car, she used her right leg to unlatch the door and broke the locking mechanism. After arriving at the Miami Police Department Headquarters, Cohen refused to speak to officers about the incident.

As a result of the charges, police took Cohen to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. Per jail records, Cohen remained on a $3,300 bond on May 29, 2024, Wednesday morning.

A 25-time powerlifting record-holder, Cohen has demonstrated remarkable achievements as an athlete. She has also found success inside the boxing ring, having compiled a professional record of four wins, one loss, and one draw.
