NFL GOAT Tom Brady still has the strength of a bull at 47 years old. Taking to a recent YouTube video shared on August 28, 2024, Brady showcased his first max bench press in 18 years, which totaled 245 pounds.

Tom Brady was quite literally the MVP (most valuable player) in the NFL. After 23 seasons playing for the New England Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Brady racked up dozens of accomplishments, including most career passing yards and touchdown passes as well as being a seven-time Super Bowl champion.

Proving that age is just a number, Tom Brady would become the oldest NFL MVP at 40, the oldest Super Bowl MVP at 43, and the oldest quarterback for the Pro Bowl at 44. However, Tom Brady isn’t stopping there. Even though he retired from the sport in early 2023, he is still maintaining his athletic prowess in other ways.

NFL Star Tom Brady Not Slowing Down, Shares 1-Rep Max Bench Press of 245 Pounds

While obviously, his sport of choice is football, that hasn’t stopped Tom Brady from trying his hand at basketball or beating his own record from 25 years ago for the 40-yard dash. And now, Brady is back in the gym, surprising himself with his insane strength after completing a 245-pound bench press, which is his max in 18 years.

Reminiscing about the good old days, Tom Brady revealed in a YouTube video the last time he maxed out a bench press, which he estimated to be around 2005-2006.

“In college or like early Pats for sure. Probably, 05′-06′ with Matt Cassel and I was just grinding it out to see who could lift more and be the bigger beast.”

Before seeing if he could beat his personal record, Brady shared what his max was 18 years ago.

“I mean the most I did was like 225 for like 8 or 9. I always feel like if you could do your body weight 10 times, that’s a great goal.”

“If I was trying to unretire, I would not be doing this” Brady said

Despite his protests for weight lifting, he was able to surprise himself with not only his 225-pound lift but amazingly hit a new PR with 245 pounds.

“If you told me this morning that I had to do 245, I’d be like ‘You’re out of your fucking mind.’

At the end of it all, Tom Brady was feeling good about what he accomplished.

“Not to brag myself, but I’m a great athlete.

Tom Brady isn’t the only football star breaking records in the gym. Shannon Sharpe recently crushed a 305.9-pound bench press for reps, making it look easy. Sharpe has been dedicated to his health and fitness over the years, flaunting a shredded physique at 54

From the field to the gym, Tom Brady is still reaching new heights despite being retired. While he probably won’t be coming back out to play, the 47-year-old is having fun breaking his personal records from years ago. Fans look forward to seeing what he accomplishes next!
