2022 African Youth Weightlifting Championships
The 2022 African Youth Weightlifting Championships began on 1 September 2022, with 45 lifters in 19 classes. This competition was decided within the 2022 African Junior Championships. The lifts counted for both, with places ranked within each field. Gold went to Reda Settaoui (49 kg, 135 kg), Kamal Shalabi (55 kg, 170 kg), Alex Stephen Donfack Ngaban (61 kg, 178 kg), Mohamed Shalabi (67 kg, 232 kg), Mohammed Alzintani (73 kg, 255 kg), Roger Brest Sokoudjou Sinetang (81 kg, 246 kg), Daniel Onana Tanga (89 kg, 295 kg), Kazidi Abdul (96 kg, 255 kg), Abdulsalam Qanaw (102 kg, 185 kg) and Yousuf Zawiyah (+102 kg, 262 kg) for the men, and Maissa Khathraoui (40 kg, 97 kg), Aya Kirfatlan (49 kg, 108 kg), Amal Larti (55 kg, 127 kg), Hanin Ahmed Mohamed Ahmed Elsayed (59 kg, 174 kg), Loujain Amara (64 kg, 161 kg), Sanae Taftafi (71 kg, 152 kg), Rahma Ahmed Abdelrazek Hassan Elsayed (76 kg, 215 kg), Nolene Schlemmer (81 kg, 133 kg) and Shams Mohamed Ahmed Abdelazim (+81 kg, 213 kg) for the women.
