Men’s Open legend Phil Heath has apparently still got it after stepping away from the bright lights of bodybuilding. In a recent Instagram post shared on September 12, 2024, ‘The Gift’ flaunted his Mr. Olympia-worthy feathered quad definition, further showcasing his longevity.
Phil Heath was the man to take over the Olympia throne after four-time champion Jay Cutler. Coached by FST-7 training founder Hany Rambod, Heath left a path of destruction in his wake en route to cementing his name among the all-time greats.
He succeeded in winning a staggering seven Mr. Olympia titles and did so dominantly. He elevated the sport, and especially the Open Bodybuilding division to new levels thanks to his cutthroat and personal rivalry with ‘The Predator’ Kai Greene, whom he denied the Sandow trophy on multiple occasions. He last competed at the 2020 Mr. Olympia, placing third, behind Brandon Curry, and the former two-time titleholder Mamdouh ‘Big Ramy Elssbiay.
Technically, Phil Heath has yet to announce his retirement from bodybuilding, meaning there’s still a chance we could one day see him back on stage. However, in the past, he’s mentioned that the only way he’d entertain a comeback is if a $1 million price tag was attached to an offer.

While that doesn’t appear to be happening anytime soon, that hasn’t stopped the bodybuilding legend from maintaining his incredible muscle definition. Interestingly, we’ve seen plenty of upper body physique updates from Heath, which left many wondering about his leg density. Now, we know, ‘The Gift’ isn’t lacking in terms of fullness and muscle separation.

Without further ado, let’s check out Heath’s impressive update:
“Keep your mirrors clean 👍🏽” Heath shared.
Even though Phil Heath won’t be stacking his physique up against other killers in the Men’s Open division this year, he still plans to attend the prestigious 2024 Mr. Olympia competition, which is set to celebrate its 60th anniversary from October 10-13. During that special weekend, Heath will be honored with an induction into the International Sports Hall of Fame, a monumental achievement only awarded to a select few athletes who have left the world in awe.
Longevity and health in bodybuilding are hard to come by yet Heath has proven he’s got it down with no problem, which is a testament to the training, nutrition, and performance-enhancing drug protocols he used throughout his tenure. And he’s not the only bodybuilding legend boasting jacked quads since setting down his posing trunks. Jay Cutler continues to turn back the clock with an impressive physique, complete with striated quads at 51 years old.
At 44 years old and having spent years away from the competitive stage, Phil Heath is proof that thriving as a bodybuilder with your health intact is possible, even if you’ve competed at the highest level. Given his latest update, it’s evident he continues to prioritize intense leg training since departing from the sport in a competitive capacity.
