Illia Golem was known as ‘The Mutant’ and coined the ‘Most Monstrous Bodybuilder’ due to his large build, coming in at six feet tall and weighing over 348 pounds. His insane size contributed to his mind-blowing strength, having been able to bench press 600 pounds and deadlift nearly 700 pounds.

Golem was also known for his massive diet that consisted of over 16,500 calories. He would have seven meals throughout the day that consisted of foods such as 108 pieces of sushi and 14 oatmeal pancakes with syrup. If that wasn’t enough, he would also take down over five pounds of steak in just one sitting alongside a pound and a half of cottage cheese.

Illia Golem amassed a large presence on social media, having over 300,000 followers on Instagram and nearly 50,000 on YouTube. Golem would talk about topics ranging from workouts to his favorite foods. Illia Golem never shied around difficult topics, including discussions about supplements and performance-enhancement drug use.

Illia Golemn’s death has certainly caused an uproar among fans and fitness enthusiasts, leading to even more conversations about the safety of bodybuilding. With heart attacks becoming commonplace in the sport, do you think any changes need to be made to protect athletes so these tragedies occur less often?
