William Bonac is turning heads in the bodybuilding community as he continues to hone his physique for a potential return. In a recent Instagram post, Bonac shared his off-season progress now that his body has had a chance to rest.
As a two-time Arnold Classic champion (2018, 2020), Bonac is among the most elite competitors on the planet. Having come razor-close to winning the Mr. Olympia contest against Brandon Curry in 2019, ‘The Conqueror’ understands the nutritional and physical sacrifices necessary to hang with stars like Mamdouh ‘Big Ramy’ Elssbiay, Nick Walker, and Hunter Labrada.
Bonac placed second to Curry at the 2022 Arnold Classic before claiming gold at the Boston Pro a week later. However, at the Mr. Olympia contest, Bonac registered a record-low ninth-place finish. Instead of taking time to recover, Bonac pushed into the 2023 Arnold Classic, where he claimed a seventh-place position.
Bonac initially set his sights on the 2024 Arnold Classic but wasn’t featured on the competitors list. With steady physique updates, fans are curious about the bodybuilding star’s future.

What’s Next for William Boanc?
Following his impressive physique update, fans await Bonac’s next bodybuilding competition. Even with the extra time away from the stage, the former two-time AC champ is looking conditioned, especially his upper body.
“Body under construction. Mind on a mission.👑
Some updates pictures from yesterday.” William Bonac shared.
Despite his hiatus from competitive bodybuilding, Bonac has still kept in touch with the sport on some level. He recently offered Larry Wheels posing tips ahead of his Classic Physique debut last year. The lesson in stage presence paid off as Wheels later proceeded to the 2023 Amateur Olympia, where he nailed down second place.
There have also been talks surrounding William Bonac since he announced his 2023 break. Athletes rep Bob Cicherillo took part in an interview where he urged Bonac to retire on the Mr. Olympia stage in a memorable send-off. Cicherillo went as far as to suggest that the organizers should offer Bonac a special invite for his final Mr. Olympia.
Even though William Bonac admits it haunted him not to perform on the 2023 Mr. Olympia stage, perhaps the decision will help him return refreshed. It’s evident he has prioritized nutrition, supplementation, and intense training in the meantime.
If William Bonac plans to participate in the 60th anniversary of the 2024 Mr. Olympia, he must qualify for the event by the deadline on September 15, 2024.
