Tiffany Chapon, or ‘Turbo Tiff’ as many call her, has extended her dominance in the 47-kilogram weight class at the recent 2024 IPF Sheffield Powerlifting Championships. The competition took place on February 10th, and gathered 24 elite powerlifters in total. However, Tiffany was one that exceeded expectations, having set three new U47KG IPF World Records.

Squat

Tiffany Chapon opened up her squat session at 155 kilograms (341.7 pounds), which was slightly below the record. So, despite being the first lifter to walk out on the platform, Tiffany was already making it clear that World Records were going to fall.

It did not take long for Tiffany Chapon to outperform the IPF World Record, as she loaded 161.5 kilograms (356 pounds) for her second attempt. After some struggle, Tiffany managed to complete the lift and get validation from the judges. Chapon hoped to push the record a bit further on her final attempt, but 162.5 kilograms (358.3 pounds) proved to be a bit too much for her.

  • 155 kilograms (341.7 pounds)
  • 161.5 kilograms (356 pounds) — U47KG IPF World Record
  • Unsuccessful — 162.5 kilograms (358.3 pounds)

*The old U47KG IPF World Record Squat belonged to Tiffany Chapon as well. It stood at 161 kilograms (354.9 pounds), which she set at the 2023 IPF Sheffield Powerlifting Championships.

Bench Press

Similar to the squats, Tiffany Chapon had successfully performed her first two bench press attempts and then failed her third. However, her second attempt at 100 kilograms (220.5 pounds) was once again good enough to set a new U47KG IPF World Record.

Having weighed in at 46.7 kilograms (103 pounds) on the competition day, Tiffany Chapon’s 100-kilogram (220.5-pound) bench came out to over 2x her bodyweight. Moreover, that proved to be her limit at the moment, as she added 1 kilogram (2.2 pounds) for her final attempt, but couldn’t get the barbell off her chest.

  • 95 kilograms (209.4 pounds)
  • 100 kilograms (220.5 pounds) — U47KG IPF World Record
  • Unsuccessful — 101 kilograms (222.7 pounds)

*The previous U47KG IPF World Record Squat belonged to Tiffany Chapon as well. It stood at 99.5 kilograms (219.4 pounds), which she set at the 2023 IPF World Classic Powerlifting Championships.

Deadlift

Despite setting two new World Records on the squat and bench press, Tiffany Chapon had even more on her mind. After all, she received £5,000 for each record that she broke.

So, although the deadlift record was too far for her to reach, Tiffany Chapon decided to chase the U47KG Total IPF World Record. Having performed well on all events, Tiffany was well on track to set a new Total mark as well. The only thing she needed was a decent deadlift.

Tiffany Chapon exceeded the Total World Record on her second deadlift attempt already, but still decided to take it up a notch on her final lift of the day. So, she ultimately pulled 170 kilograms (375.8 pounds) from the ground, which secured her a Total of 431.5 kilograms (951.3 pounds), which was 3 kilograms (6.6 pounds) over the record.

  • 160 kilograms (352.7 pounds)
  • 167.5 kilograms (369.3 pounds)
  • 170 kilograms (374.8 pounds)

Total — 431.5 kilograms (951.3 pounds) — U47KG IPF World Record

*Tiffany Chapon held the previous U47 IPF Total World Record of 428.5 kilograms (944.7 pounds) and set it at the 2023 IPF Sheffield Powerlifting Championships.
