Wesley Vissers has easily become one of the most dangerous IFBB Pros in the Classic Physique division and is open to improving. In a recent YouTube video, William Bonac guided Vissers through a three-hour heavy leg day training session.
After serving up a shocking upset over Ramon Queiroz at the 2024 Arnold Classic, fans, and bodybuilding veterans have gotten behind Wesley Vissers, thanks to his aesthetics and deep muscle separation. Following the big win in Ohio, Vissers took to the Arnold Classic UK show, where he also claimed gold. With his eyes on sport’s greatest title, Vissers plans to improve his legs and posterior chain to stand a chance against Chris Bumstead.
William Bonac has placed as high as second on the prestigious Mr. Olympia stage (2019) and has established himself as one of the most consistent and formidable talents in the Open class. At his last contest appearance, Bonac turned in a seventh-place showing at the 2023 Arnold Classic. Looking ahead, Bonac has his sights set on a show in the near future.

Lying Leg Curl Machine
With quad and hamstring development among Vissers’ top priorities, Bonac warned him about going beyond failure to avoid potential injuries.
“Now you know okay this is your main thing to focus on. Don’t let it get to your head that you’re going to try to force it and go too heavy and tear up your hamstring muscles.
So, still, be careful. When you see like you got your reps you can’t go no more, you try to get one more, that’s enough,” said Bonac. “Or you’ll quickly get injured,” states Bonac.
Single Leg Bent-Over Hamstring Curl
Bonac guided Vissers through reps of single-leg bent-over hamstring curls, emphasizing consistent pressure.
“Feel the pressure here. When you bring it, you’re going to feel the pressure more behind and when you push a little bit more then you hit the glutes.”
Glute Kickback Machine
Vissers appreciated the stretch and contraction he received from reps on the glute kickback machine.
“I’m not supposed to hit the glutes because Stefan said my glutes are too big,” said Bonac.
“Feels very good, you get a good stretch at the start, a good contraction at the end, perfect complete leg-builder but especially the glutes for me is important here,” explains Wesley Vissers.
Leg Extension Machine
Before heading to the squat machine, Bonac and Vissers built their quads with machine leg extensions.
V-Squat Machine
Wesley Vissers started on the squat machine, grunting through slow and controlled reps.
Leg Press
Aiming to maintain constant tension on the quads, Bonac and Vissers proceeded with sets of leg presses.
“That was the workout. I think it was close to three hours, two and a half hours, something like this which is very intense but I learned a lot. I want to thank William a lot for his knowledge and insights, and his motivation because for sure look up to him. He was already a very good bodybuilder before I turned Pro, he’s the Dutch pride as well.”
“This is going to be the first of many good workouts,” adds Vissers.
Linear Hack Squat
The linear hack squat is a full lower body exercise using a lever machine. It hits quads, hamstrings, glutes, calves, and core. The lever allows controlled, safe motion to load heavy weight. A few sets torch legs for strength and muscle growth.
Considering the momentum Vissers has gained as of late, he caught the attention of reigning five-time Classic Physique Olympia Chris Bumstead. Although ‘Cbum’ acknowledged Vissers was beyond his best at the 2024 Arnold Classic, he still believes he can beat anyone in the world even if they are at ‘120 percent.’
Vissers continues to learn from contenders who came before him. Fans look forward to seeing ‘The Dutch Oak’ collide with Bumstead at the 2024 Mr. Olympia, which is set to celebrate its 60th anniversary in Las Vegas, Nevada from October 10-13.
