All eyes are on Nick Walker, who hopes to earn his Mr. Olympia qualification by winning a Pro show this weekend. In a recent Instagram reel, Cutler related with Nick Walker’s guest posing shape, and backed him to ‘shock’ everyone at the New York Pro this weekend.
This Saturday, May 18th, Steve Weinberger’s highly anticipated 2024 New York Pro is set to take place in Teaneck, New Jersey. This prestigious event will showcase nine divisions battling it out in hopes of earning the title and securing their ticket to the 2024 Mr. Olympia.
In a talent-packed event, attention will be on the Men’s Open class, as fans are buzzing with anticipation for Nick Walker‘s return, seeking his second New York Pro title since his incredible win in 2021. Just one week before taking to the competitive stage, Walker guest posed at the 2024 Pittsburgh Pro, which left many in the bodybuilding community skeptical of his ability to clinch the win.
Among the critics was Samir Bannout who recently shared his thoughts on Nick Walker’s midsection. While he believes that it could simply be bloat from a bad week or stress, he emphasized that Walker’s ‘middle’ looked wide. He also explained that he didn’t like that Walker didn’t tan his face for the Pittsburgh guest posing.

However, quick to jump to Walker’s defense was Jay Cutler, who in a recent Instagram reel, revealed he relates to Nick Walker’s physique while guest posing and went on to express his belief that Walker will shock everyone this weekend at the New York Pro show.
“Nick, listen. If I guest posed a week out of any show I did, I would be the Nick Walker story. People would say ‘there’s no way Jay’s going to make it.’ 2001, how much weight did I lose the last week? I talk about it all the time, almost thirty pounds” Cutler shares.
“Nick, no question, I think he is going to walk into New York and shock everyone. Everyone is going to ask, ‘What did you do in a week?'”
With the 2024 New York Pro almost here, Nick Walker has his work cut out for him as he faces some big threats from the Open class. This will include the reigning 2023 New York Pro champion Tonio Burton and Quinton Eriya, who is making his return to the bodybuilding stage following his year-long hiatus.
Additionally, Martin Fitzwater, who recently won the 2024 Detroit Pro, is looking to make a statement at the New York Pro after claiming he is confident he can give Nick Walker a ‘run for his money.‘ Fitzwater boasted an aesthetic appearance on the Pittsburgh guest posing stage and will aim to shock the world.
Fans can look forward to witnessing the explosive action this weekend, on May 18th, in Teaneck, New Jersey. While it seems some are skeptical of Nick Walker’s ability to produce the winning physique, only time will tell if he can pull off the epic comeback.
