Men’s Open IFBB Pro bodybuilder Quinton Eriya intends to make a statement at his next contest. In a recent YouTube video, Eriya opened up on his prep for the 2024 New York Pro on May 18 and discussed a potential battle with the favorite Nick Walker.

Boasting eye-catching symmetry, balanced proportions, and round muscle bellies, it didn’t take long for Quinton Eriya to receive attention as a top-tier talent. In 2022, Eriya left fans stunned by his thin waist and aesthetics at the Tampa Pro, where he proved himself in third place against former 212 Olympia Kamal Elgargni and champion Akim Williams.

Eriya rode that momentum into the 2022 Texas Pro, which turned out to be a highly competitive event. In the end, he took fifth place but held his own against major players of the category like Andrew Jacked. Having taken an entire year off to add mass and detail, Eriya is on the brink of performing again at the New York Pro, and his confidence has grown alongside his muscularity.

According to Eriya, he started his prep for the 2024 New York Pro back in December of last year.

“First weekend of December [I started my prep for the 2024 New York Pro],” said Eriya. “Yeah, five months.”

Looking ahead, Eriya plans to compete in as many shows as possible.

“I’m contemplating doing all of them man. At this point, I would have loved to do Detroit. If I got in shape for that time period but for me, I think I’m really, I think we are really going to hit our stride really soon. Whatever show is there I’m going to come.”

While he acknowledges that Nick Walker is the clear frontrunner at the 2024 New York Pro, Eriya underscores that he has strengths over him and vice-versa. He believes he can outperform Walker with certain shots on stage.

“I think my physique, I think I have strengths over him. I think he has strengths over me. For me, personally, I can acknowledge that he is one of the top guys in the sport. With that said, there is going to be certain shots where he might beat me, but certain shots where I might beat him.”

“I believe wholeheartedly, I believe in myself 100 percent. I have no doubt. I’m not worried about anybody. It’s bodybuilding bro. It’s not a fight, it’s bodybuilding. I’m going to go there have fun and show off my physique.”

Although he has a renewed sense of confidence in 2024, Eriya prefers to stay humble and let his physique do the talking.

“Yeah, I feel really confident,” adds Eriya. “I just try to stay humble, stay quiet, and just let my work talk. Yeah, no, Samson had those advantages and I think it would be similar advantages, similar potential disadvantages, the difference being that Samson is bigger and in the lower, but I’m bringing that conditioning. We are coming in peeled. I know Nick is coming in peeled. I know he’s going to be full.”

With other contenders vying for gold in New York like Tonio Burton and Martin Fitzwater, Eriya accepts that he will have his hands full.

“I just feel like it’s going to be an interesting clash of physiques. You got the dudes there, Tonio’s, the Stu’s, the Martin’s, a lot of bad dudes man. So, it’s going to be a really fun show,” shares Quinton Eriya.

Although Quinton Eriya plans to battle with Nick Walker, that hasn’t stopped the two from getting in some much-needed training. During Walker’s visit to Canada, he and Eriya linked up for a demanding push-day training session. With insight into how each other trains, fans are in for a treat when they meet on stage in less than a month.

Given that the bodybuilding community hasn’t heard much from Quinton Eriya, it makes his return all the more mysterious and exciting. Should he defeat Nick Walker at the 2024 New York Pro, it would be a massive upset that would position Eriya up for a major year in the sport.
