Two of the biggest influencers in the world squared off for bragging rights inside the Zoo Culture Gym in Los Angeles. On March 12, 2025, Bradley Martyn and Andrew Tate pushed each other in an as many reps as possible (AMRAP) flat bench press challenge.

Bradley Martyn is revered in the fitness community for his freakish strength. He tips the scales at 260 pounds, and his lifts have even caught the attention of legendary athletes like former eight-time Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman. He also competed as an amateur bodybuilder in the NPC, where he picked up two victories at the 2011 NPC Southern California Championships and the 2013 NPC Phil Heath Classic.

Tate, meanwhile, is a former kickboxing champion and social media personality. In addition to gaining fame for his outspoken personality, fans have come to appreciate his high level of fitness and discipline, often seeing him promote strength training and combat sports as pillars of self-improvement.

Bradley Martyn warmed up with nine reps of 90 pounds. Tate followed up with eight reps, revealing that he hasn’t bench pressed in four years.

“I haven’t even lifted. I haven’t even free bar benched since I was with fuckin Mike Thurston. It’s been four long years. So my technique is going to be all shit.”

Martyn moved the weight up to 225, pressing it up fast for eight reps with little effort. Tate pushed through eight reps without much struggle, sticking with a fast tempo as well.  Then, Martyn attached three 45-pound weight plates to each side, pushing 315 pounds for 11.

“That was teaching me a lesson,” remarked Tate.

Tate also went for the 315-pound bench press and squeezed out four repetitions. Martyn responded by hitting 405 pounds for a double. Afterward, Tate wanted to see how many reps they could perform with just one plate attached to each side of the barbell.

Tate performed as many reps as possible (AMRAP) first, totaling 50 reps of 90 pounds to start. Meanwhile, Martyn wanted 100 reps but settled for 69. With a wide grip, Tate blasted through another 59 reps, attempting to catch Martyn. When Martyn lay down for another set, he knocked out 55 reps.

“You’re miles stronger than me,  but I have the endurance,” explains Tate.

Tate tested his strength with another huge set and pushed through 48 reps. Martyn finished the session off with 50 reps.

Although Tate weighed 40 pounds less than Martyn, he held his own despite not benching in four years. Martyn also showed that his strength and endurance haven’t waned with his busy schedule as the host of the podcast Bradley Martyn’s Raw Talk.
