Talks of who will win the upcoming ProMuscle Italy Pro are picking up. Former four-time Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler took to YouTube on September 5, 2025, to discuss Urs Kalecinski’s move to the Open and the rise of taller competitors in the IFBB Pro League, like Samson Dauda and Quinton Eriya.
Having secured bronze at the Mr. Olympia for three consecutive years, Urs Kalecinski‘s switch came out of left field. He decided to move divisions instead of shredding pounds of muscle to meet the Classic Physique weight cap. At over 260 pounds, a supersized Kalecinski has a shot at earning his Olympia qualification in his first attempt.
However, “The Miracle Bear” threw himself into one of the most stacked lineups of the season. In addition to Sergio Oliva Jr. and Mark Hector, the German native will also have to get past Eriya, who has been training with reigning Mr. Olympia Samson Dauda in the lead-up to the event.

In the video, Cutler emphasized that there are only a few Olympia qualifications left. He discussed Eriya training with Dauda ahead of his next contest at the ProMuscle Italy Pro this weekend.

“Coming down to the last qualifiers now, the Italy Pro show with Urs competing — he texted me, he says he’s 260. What about Sergio? Obviously, Quinton is doing the show, he’s been training with Samson which is very honorable to invite him over and train there.”
He believes that when taller athletes like Dauda and Eriya are in shape, it’s more challenging to defeat them due to their balance.
“I think they both have the same kind of background [Quinton Eriya and Samson Dauda]. Both shapely guys. You know, it’s really hard when someone is that big and balanced to beat them when they are in good shape.”
In contrast to his era, Cutler explained that taller athletes are finding more success today.
“You know what’s crazy, from the times we were deep into bodybuilding, remember, the tall guys never did as well. Toney Freeman. I feel like Freeman in today’s era I think he would stack up pretty well with these guys. Gunter was at least 300, wasn’t he? He didn’t have the crazy shape that some of these guys have,” said Jay Cutler.
Kalecinski’s move to the Men’s Open has the bodybuilding community talking. While IFBB judge Terrick El Guindy insists he needs more muscle mass to compete with the best, he called Kalecinski a bona fide superstar, whose posing and conditioning could spell trouble for his new division.
Kalecinski has kept his physique under wraps heading into show day. The 2025 ProMuscle Italy Pro takes place this weekend from September 6-7.
