Brian Johnson, better known as Liver King, can finally breathe a sigh of relief. On Nov. 13, 2025, a Travis County criminal court representative confirmed to MMA Fighting that the charges against Johnson were dropped.
In June, Liver King was jailed in Texas after making threats and challenging podcast host Joe Rogan to a fight. Liver King traveled to Austin, Texas, where Rogan lives, and continued to post a collection of bizarre reels on Instagram.
Rogan’s security team was concerned by Johnson’s behavior and wanted police to get involved before things could escalate. After watching Johnson’s clips, police thought he was having a ‘mental health episode,’ suggesting that he could be a danger to himself or others. Having paid the $20,000 bail, Liver King has mostly been quiet online, though now it appears he has a legitimate win to celebrate.
Liver King Charges Dismissed After Threats to Joe Rogan
Before his mishap with Rogan, Liver King built a massive online empire. He ate raw organ meat, bull testicles, and raw eggs, boasting a ripped physique. Liver King’s fame exploded when fans became more familiar with his ‘ancestral lifestyle,’ which strictly follows nine tenets that focus on family, community, and health.
However, public opinion of Liver King swayed after he was exposed for steroid use. He denied all allegations until an email leak from Derek of More Plates More Dates confirmed that he was using several performance-enhancers, including over $10,000 a month on growth hormone. While he admits he lied to his fans, Johnson eventually returned to steroid use.
There’s been real backlash since Johnson was called out for lying about his steroid use. Betrayed fans have hit the social media star with hefty lawsuits. One was as high as $25 million, with some arguing that Liver King tricked customers into thinking his physique was attainable without steroids.
Beyond legal and financial concerns, Liver King has also been dealing with health challenges. He recently endured a ‘major health scare’ and lost 25 pounds. Johnson revealed that he tore his left meniscus, had a mass in his colon, and was suffering from a ‘twisted kidney.’
Now, with the Rogan drama behind him, perhaps Johnson will return to his old form and invite fans to try his ancestral lifestyle. He’s yet to issue a statement after the legal victory, but that could change soon.
